Very useful, wish I’d bought one years ago
Well worth buying. I’ve struggled on detangling yarn and re balling it by hand, which takes ages. This wool winder is so quick and easy to use once you get the hang of it, just don’t be tempted to wind it too fast and keep a nice steady speed. I love the way it clamps on to the table so it stays firmly attached. I would definitely recommend it.

Does the job but the little arm is annoying.
It gets the job done however the little metal arm that you feed the yarn through doesn’t stay in place very well and keeps falling down, even when I’ve pulled it out fully so it shouldn’t be doing this. It’s very annoying and I’ve had to push something heavy against it to stop it from doing so when I’m winding.A person I know with one has said they’ve used tape to keep theirs from falling, so looks like it might be a recurring issue with these. I’m going to give the tape a go and hope it works a bit better.Either way it was cheap and still does the job.

Excellent
How did I ever manage for so long without this?! You have to buy, don’t wonder, just get it. Few tips tho..1 - while winding, hold the yarn high up and allow it to run through your fingers.2 - if you stop, bring the yarn to the top of the ball and restart. If you’re holding the end at the bottom of the ball, you could run the risk of getting it wrapped around the mechanism underneath - trust me, I know!3 - as tempting as it is, don’t make your balls too big. You’ll start crocheting or knitting from the middle tail so eventually the middle of the ball will be ‘empty’. If you’ve made a big ball, you could end up with the sides collapsing and getting your yarn knotted up - trust me, I know that too!

Winding wool
I watched a few YouTube videos and decided to buy one. I have quite a few balls of wool but once I got winding I couldn't stop, it was addictive and therapeutic at the same time.I would recommend this product, the only point I would make is wind it slow at times as handle disconnects from the cog.It ha tidied up all the wool and now I find it easier to crotchet with.

Neat “cakes’ of yarn
It does the job surprisingly well, however it does feel a bit flimsy so don’t k is how long it will last, I am slightly addicted though to the cakes of wool it makes and have re wound about 30 skiens/balls of yarn so far! The vice doesn’t work brilliantly and comes loose as you wind but I have found a way to hold it in place as I wind

Not the easiest to use
Does keep getting yarn tangled but if it is done slowly it’s not too bad.
