So, my packages of boba pearls had moisture in all of them. Not sure if that's common or not. But the pearls all had a slightly sweet molasses smell to them and did NOT smell off or funky. I made some normal black tea, cooled it down in the fridge and made the pearls as soon as they arrived in the mail.I brought 2 cups of water to a boil and put in maybe 1/4 cup of pearls. As they cooked they puffed up a lot and started to float. I let them simmer for a few more minutes maybe 6 minutes total. Then turned off the heat and got my tea from the fridge.Then I drained the pearls with a slotted spoon "I'll say are much smaller after turning off the heat" and added a 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar to the remaining hot water around the pearls.Pour pearls and sugar mix into my cooled tea, add a splash of milk and it's the same as I got in Times Square. I'm gifting most of this kit to a friend now that I have tested it.

Would have returned this if it was an option. Didn't think the added color would bother me, I have no problem drinking Windex-looking sports drinks, etc...That said, this tea has a chemical taste similar to artificial sweetener. I am attributing this to the dye because... I just am. So there.Kit would have been a great value otherwise, I appreciate the straws and metal bag clip/scoop.

For starters, the reviewer who left the 3-star review when they didn't like boba in general needs to reassess how they review things--if you're given a free product to review, review it on the quality of the product. It is unfair to the seller when you give a low-star review when you wouldn't like the product regardless. But that's enough of that, I'll get off of my soapbox now and start my review.This kit is beyond impressive, the tea is wonderful and tastes like what you receive at Thai restaurants. The straws are a great addition, I already had a metal straw that goes with the cup I drink my boba tea from but the one I already had did not have a rubber bit for the end so I took it off one from the straws in this kit and put it on my straw, it is snug on the end--but it is not hard to take off. The clip and scoop are a nice add to the kit as well! Like another reviewer said, it has most everything you need aside from a kettle, stove pot (to cook the boba pearls), strainer (for the tea), and cup--what a great deal! The boba in this kit is also the BEST boba you can buy, it cooks quickly and perfectly. I am so happy that I ordered this kit over the other kits available online. Great buy!

Instructions on the back of the tea package for iced tea recommends using 4 tablespoons of tea per 8oz of hot water, should be closer to 1 tablespoon per 8oz of hot water. After brewing dilute with additional 8oz of milk or water per serving and pour over ice.

The box (boba pearls) expired less than 2 months after it arrived. I'll be lucky to get through 1/5 bags before it expires. Also, there aren't very clear instructions on how to make it taste like the shops make it. It wasn't sweet and dyed everything in my kitchen bright orange.

I love thai tea boba drinks and this set makes it so fun to be able to make it at home! The instructions are very helpful & easy to understand. I'm still working on getting the sweetness to my taste but it's really cool to be able to make a boba treat at home anytime. The kit came with everything you'd need. I highly recommend!!

This product doesn’t come close to the original Boba tea shops in Europe- in taste. But that is not why I gave it one star. The amount of incredibly excessive orange dye in the tea, whether natural or not, makes the tea kind of a gross pumpkin orange color. It was so unappealing, even with honey and brown sugar added, that we didn’t drink it. We will be throwing away the tea, but using the Boba tapioca to try to make boba ice cream.

Finally we have a chance to make the bubble tea. We're amazed on how much tapioca pearls that it come with. On our first trial, we put too much tea and not much sugar and so it was a little strong and bitter. However, we learned batter the next time and it tasted fine. We like the fact that it came with straws, measuring spoon and clips. The straws just wide enough to take in the pearls. We do have to guess how long we have to brew the tea since no where it mentions how long. It took shorted time than we thought to make a new cup of tea.
