Sony MDR-XB550AP Extrabass Headphones - Black

After around 7 years of having a pair of Sony Headphones MDRZX310 which I appreciated, I decided to change them. I am very happy about my new purchase. The packaging is well made and protecting the headphones very well. Very easy to fit on the head, the pads are very comfortable, nothing is hard or tight. The look of the headphones plastic doesn't appear cheap at all. The sound of the music inside is very good for a product in such a price range. Overall a perfect purchase for anyone wanting comfortable and good quality headphones under £30.

Headphone delivered on time, packaged was well made and protected the headphones well. Sony is the only brand I buy headphones from. I owned the MDR-XB950AP Premium Xtra Bass Overhead Headphones version which was perfect, but after a few months, one side of the headphone snapped off completely despite careful treatment, this made me hesitate to buy another pair. I settled for this version as it was cheaper. It's barely been a month but so far I'm impressed by it.PROS- Sound + Bass ( clear, even at maximum volume when listening to heavy music, sound is decent)- Looks and feels excellent- Build Quality- Lightweight- Comfortable padsCONS- Yes, Comfortable on the head not too tight on the ears but after hours of use, the pads tend to make my ears sore, therefore forced to adjust it to sit right. Plus, it tends to slowly slip (hence my rate of 4 / 5).

Bought 2 pairs of these, one black and one white, and I'm really happy with my purchase. The sound quality is very good and the extra bass really makes a difference. They're also very comfortable considering that I wore them during a ~4 hour flight and my ears didn't start hurting like it usually does when using similar headphones. What I also enjoy about these is the microphone which comes in handy since my phone, for some reason, has a very low volume during calls. The colours, however, are not really black and white. They're more like dark-grey and light-grey but I'm not really bothered about that. I was thinking to give it a 4-star review because they're not as loud as I thought they should be, but decided not to because if they were louder they would've damaged my ears more. So, yeah. I do recommend these because they really are value for money.

These are very good for money was £50 now £29.99 well balanced headfones there bass all the time when it's needed it's there reggae & rap soundz so smooth I bought the case as well I'm very happy with them I've got a pair of beats there up there with them comfortable to wear for long periods without blowing your ears off I got a sony fone so I downloaded smartconnect plus smartkey to use with these headfones can be used with a smartfone everything you plug in yiur music remembers where it left off yiu have to set both up easy to do set your preferences jobs a gooden these are the newer version

The media could not be loaded. Love these Sony Headphones. I’ve had several pairs over the years. Really decent quality as you’d expect from a big brand like Sony.The sound quality is first class.At this price point, in my opinion I don’t think you’d get a better pair of headphones.

My teenage daughter is a lot harder on her headphones than most people, we end up replacing them at least once a year, sometimes more frequently. She's had these a couple of months now I think, easily, and they seem good and sturdy so far considering that they're not a price point that's going to break the bank. She likes the sound well enough and she has a far more expensive pair of AKG studio cans for when she's making music, so she knows what a good pair of headphones sounds like. She says these are obviously a lot less precise but she enjoys the prominence of the bass for listening to hip-hop while out and about and says they have a pleasant, fairly warm sound signature. They're too unbalanced for me, I'll stick with my Sennheisers, but then I'm gentle enough with my gear to be able to afford something nicer for everyday use! If you love your bass and you're a bit heavy-handed or just work in the sort of environment where it's difficult to keep your stuff in good shape, these are a good, solid purchase. Will update as and when we run into any problems.

I bought these headphones July 2020 and it's not March 2021 and the plastic on both the earcups has snapped and I'm having to hold them together with tape.The sound quality and comfort have been great up to now and have been used daily for work. The plastic holding the earcups in place is very cheap and I would expect £40 headphones to last more than 8 month. Pretty poor effort from Sony.

Headphones arrived very quickly and the sound and comfort is very good, I was surprised at how nice they sound for the money.
