Having installed a 3.5mm headphone socket to my ten year old Focus so that I could use the Aux function on the radio to play music from my phone, I quickly realised that it was no use if I had to look down at my phone to change music tracks. That's simply too dangerous.However, I have yet to find a cradle that fits the Focus dashboard and plays nicely with my phone in its flip-case, so I decided to try a cable with built-in media controls.This does the trick. The cable is long enough to reach the phone whether it's on the passenger seat or in the centre storage. The volume controls are handy but most importantly I can use the next/previous track functions to skip music. One click to pause and un-pause, two clicks to skip a track, 3 clicks to go back.Obviously I can't change albums or artists but if I set the media player up for shuffle I can play all of my music collection and simply reach down to the cable's controller to change tracks without taking my eyes off the road. It's not a perfect solution for in-car media but it's a cheap alternative and this cable does exactly what I expected it to.The only issue I have is with the triple-click action for going to the previous track or re-starting the current one. Sometimes it decides to treat it as a double click instead, skipping forwards instead of backwards, but I can't decide if this is the cable's or the phone's fault.Apart from that, it's been in use for 3 months and no other problems so far.

Good product, it works perfectly with my Sony MDR 1BT. Be aware that the cable is a bit too long, but it can be sorted it out.

Didn't work very well

I love this cable it's well made and the microphone is excellent.Happy to recommend.

Was ok for a few months, then started to loose sound and the cable contacts inside started to give an intermittent sound with movement. Not happy with the quality should last longer.

Cable was good at first but went faulty after 3 months. Loose wiring in one of the plugs.

Despite what was written doesn't work with my Sony headphones
