I really like the chewy rice cakes with this spicy tomato sauce, easy to cook, delicious flavour, will buy again

For anyone expecting traditional Korean spiciness, this is not it. Very different from the ddeokbokki you would find at a roadside vendor in Korea, and distinctly lacking that lip-burningly hot spiciness.The sauce provided is a sweet-and-sour slightly reminiscent of Korean fried chicken sauce. It is delicious, but I suspect the heat has been reduced to cater to a wider western market. The ddeokbokki themselves are also very small, maybe only an inch long, despite the picture on the packaging implying a larger size.Nevertheless, I have still given them a high rating as despite not meeting my expectations the product was still very delicious in its own way and extremely easy to prepare. I will almost certainly be buying these again.

Iv always been interested to try out these the texture is not that bad slightly chewing depending how long you cook for. With me having a sensitive stomach I was only able to handle 3 bites. It was packed with spice and slight tomato taste. The price for me is very expensive nearly 9gbp for what u get in the packet,you could get a whole meal for that price i would say 1 person could eat this not two. I have order other one that has more sauce looks more nicer aswell for £5

After coming home after living in Seoul, I craved tteokbokki more than anything! This is pretty much the same flavour as the tteokbokki I got from my favourite street vendor in Sinchon! The cakes are slightly smaller, but the flavour is almost perfect, maybe slightly milder but you can just add some chilli powder. I’ve purchased about 5 times now, and it’s been great every time!

Not really spicy at all but I already knew when buying it so it has a sweet flavour but when mixed with spicy ramen noodles it taste amazing. Very good for easy to make rice cakes!

it smelled soo horrible while cooking it threw me off actually trying it. Had someone else try the sauce for me and they said it was too sweet, not flavour just like melter sugar mixed with water. Would NOT recommend. Buy this from a Korean restaurant or make yourself. It was frankly a waste of almost £10. The quantity inside is SMALL, the big package almost fools you. Regretful purchase.

Bought this to try after seeing some Korean food YouTube channels. Sometimes I just want instant food/noodles etc. For convenience, especially when I’m working long hours with no lunch breaks most days. So thought I’d try this. The rice cakes were ok but the sauce was not great. I am no expert on this but I compared it to one I tried making myself following a recipe from a well known Korean YouTuber who showed how to make the rice cakes and the sauce. You can buy pretty good quality ready made rice cakes from Chinese provision shops, which tastes better than what you get in this pack, if you don’t fancy making it yourself, and make the sauce yourself which is so easy and tastes way better than this. Honestly, to me the sauce tastes weak/awful when I compare to the real thing and to know it’s so easy to make the sauce as long as you have the ingredients, I would not recommend this to anyone to try this. I’ll stick to making it myself and freezing it until I need to cook/eat it.
