First, let me say that I find this a very attractive design, and the lamps appear to be well made. however, there are some negative features, the first being that the instructions are for a different series of lamps. The next point is that the wire colour coding is for the USA (black for live, white for neutral), although there is a label on each wire. The earth wire is correctly coloured green and yellow, but is too short in relation to the lengths of the other wires. The bulb is a decorative incandescent filament type, most certainly not energy-saving.However, the lamp is easy to mount on the wall and looks good. The inconspicuous rotary on-off switch works, so far.

Non standard ceiling fitting means it might be easier just to get a replacement rose from elsewhere but the lamp itself looks nice and is OK. There's a separate on/off rotational switch on the body of the unit, so try turning that a bit if the bulb won't light. That had me puzzling for a while and it's not mentioned anywhere. At the beggining of this year I decided to redecorate my living room and gave it retro look. It took me a couple of months to achieve the desired effect. When I invite guests over they seem to notice these lamps only! The first thing that everyone complements about are the unique lightbulbs and very nice and warm light. They're indeed great and look million times better than similar lamps I bought for tripple the price. I am so amazed it was so easy to fix the wiring together and it worked instantly. It took me 10 minutes for both! They come with instruction so it's souble easy to know which wires go together. I've got one of this lamps over a sofa, which is great for reading too. Another one is just above my computer screen and I found myself not using a table lamp anymore. I would really recommend these lamps to everyone!

The parcel was sturdy and arrived very shortly after ordering. The fitting instructions included are not as straightforward as they could be for a novice but if you are practical with DIY experience you should have no problem installing them. The shade swivels so you can position them anywhere within approx. a 150 degree angle. Due to the filtered lighting provided by the bulb and the shades capacity for 40w bulb max. you will not get bright lighting. However, the lighting is perfect for subtle lighting I required. They really do look great on the wall, especially if your walls are not painted bog standard magnolia...mine are a rich red! In my honest opinion, true value for money.

Lovely set of lights look really effective, only reason for 4 instead of 5 is that they are quite small but they do look beautiful and the design throws a lovely star effect on the ceiling when lit up.
