I was Skeptical doing a review since I have ordered so many just to return because the weren’t what I wanted. The first one I took out was to small and I wasn’t happy. The other three were fine and I kept using the first one thinking it would stretch out. I later figured it was labeled incorrectly, it must have been the 30”. Frustrating for me trying to pile enough hay in it for my horses. Well I can say I’m surprised at the amount of time they have lasted. I have a rescued paint draft (1800lbs) she will eat me out of house and home,my other rescue was an abuse case and he is 1000lbs and a bit skittish. She rules the roost. Unfortunately she has COPD ( a down fall from her past and sometimes scary watching her fight to breath). I use these slow feeds so it takes her some time to eat. Not only do they allow my smaller one to eat because she is kept busy it also allows me to cut her back and keep weight off her that helps with her breathing a ton. The hole size is perfect and they are rugged. She will rip up most of the hay nets and it led me to buy very expensive hay nets that were destroyed in a couple days. These nets have lasted a couple months and are still going strong. Don’t change a thing! I apologize for the lengthy and late review but I wanted it to be fair. I really wish they were a bit cheaper.******Update******. Inconsistent sizes is the biggest down fall. Out of 6 nets 4 I don’t have to struggle with. This is the wrong season to struggle when your hands are freezing!!

Sturdy and Durable with Proper Use
These hay nets are holding up very well under months of hard use by my three geldings. No holes at all so far. The nets slow down their rate of hay consumption, which is very good for their overall health and well being. We also live in a very windy area and the nets keep the hay from blowing away. The nets easily hold about 8# of hay each. That translates to about 2 flakes from a 2-string small square bale.I've read reviews where people have complained about their horses chewing through or ripping holes in the nets. I believe this is in large part because those people are tying the nets to a stall wall, fence or something similar. These nets should NOT be fastened to anything. They're meant to be loose on the ground or stall floor. When you fasten the net to a fixed object, all you are doing is providing leverage so your horse can pull hard at the net and rip it apart.

I had tried another less expensive bag that I wasn't happy with. I decided to order the Shires Greedy ...
These are worth the extra cost! I had tried another less expensive bag that I wasn't happy with. I decided to order the Shires Greedy Hay Net small Royal to see if they were worth paying more for. YES! They are worth the cost. I bought these to use inside my horsetrailer and love them. They are very well made and function well. No more piles of hay pulled out onto the floor of the trailer.

So far I really like the size and quality of this hay bag
So far I really like the size and quality of this hay bag. The holes are only a little smaller than my regular small hole Shire hay bag, but it is much easier to load as the bag is bigger overall. My horse doesn't seem to get frustrated with the small holes in this bag either. The netting is made from a very fine rope, so I wasn't sure how durable it would be, but one months use shows no wear at all. I am very happy with this hay bag at this point, and will update my review if this doesn't hold up over time.**Update--Turns out it didn't last very long. I think about 6 months or less.

Works well, holding up under torture biting.
Works well. I can't understand how it doesn't rip but it doesn't. My horse pulls the heck out of it pulling the hay thru.As with all hay nets, it's a real pain to put the hay in, but thats the price you pay. Defianately slows the horse eating down and keeps him busy

Nice quality but hard to reach hay
I bought this for my small appaloosa that can not chew any normal hay since the day an "equine dentist" came an electrically filed off his teeth so where they can not meet top to bottom to chew anymore. I chop his hay in a leaf chopper and thought the finest holes in this net would be the best so the fine pieces wouldn't just fall out on the ground but found the holes are a bit too small. It may work for mini's but I'm desperate to feed this horse his beloved hay but will have to stick with soaking cubes. He just misses his hay! He'll steal his buddy's hay but spits out long twirled wads with nothing being swallowed. The net seems good though

I should have ordered the large as the small barely fits a good size flake of hay
I've had many hay nets over the years, but this one is just ok. I should have ordered the large as the small barely fits a good size flake of hay. I do like the smaller 1" holes as it takes all day for my horse and mini to eat one flake of hay (I throw one flake out to eat, the others is in the net). This net after a week has already frayed. I'm not sure if it's because of the smaller holes or the quality. I do not see this net lasting 2 years like others I've purchased in the past.

Slowed my piggy mare down
This net has smaller holes and slows my mare down considerably. Without it she’ll eat 2 flakes in about 10 minutes. I monitor her gums to make sure she’s not injuring or cutting them on the netting. So far she hasn’t.

Great little nets
These nets look a bit flimsy compared to my other small-hole nets but they are lasting well. To be fair, these are the first small-hole nets that have genuinely slowed down the rate at which my mare inhales her hay. I have twi and will get more. They fit a genuine 3.5kg hay and you can squeeze a little more in too.

Haltbar, gut verarbeitet, echte Fressbremse :-)
