Great recipes!
A lot of good recipes that don't have a bunch of unusual ingredients that you have to run to the grocery store for.

Familiar foods, mostly 3-4 steps, pleasant format, easy to read and follow
I wish I'd had this book early on in my search for a family plant-based cookbook. Along with new dishes, this collection has familiar favorites with plenty of variations for those who crave new and different. Though I like world cuisine on special occasions, I want my daily food to be somewhat similar to what I grew up with. (I enjoyed those foods and these recipes work for me.) I find many cookbooks are just too exotic for me. Nava Atlas seasons her recipes in ways that appeal to me, not bland, but not overpowering either. I appreciate the "Complete the Meal" menu suggestions. I also like that she includes skillet meals. If you tend to be critical of cookbooks, borrow this one from your library. If you are just starting out with a plant-based lifestyle and want vegan versions of your favorite foods, I highly recommend this book.

Packed with great ideas!
This cookbook is so valuable both for beginning plant based cooks and those who would like to experiment with basic recipes. There are suggestions about how each recipe can be modified to change the spices, or sauce, and also suggestions for pairing the prepared dish with sides or salads, recipes for which are provided. None of the recipes is very long or time consuming, but the results are delicious!In addition to the great recipes in every category from appetizers to desserts, the author provides information about the nutritional value of varied ingredients, and also the total calorie/fat content of the finished dish. While I don't count calories, fat grams, or carbs, it was interesting to have the information.The photos of the finished dishes were beautiful and inspiring. I have already made several recipes from the book, just in the week that I've had it, and every one has been a winner. This was definitely a great purchase and I know I'll use this book frequently!I recommend this book to anyone who wants to cook whole food plant based meals!

Favorite Cookbook
This is a BEAUTIFUL book. It's so beautiful that I love displaying it on my counter using a picture stand. In addition, it's beautifully written. The recipes are clear and the instructions are very easy to follow. The recipes don't call for a laundry list of ingredients, and all of the ingredients are common and easily found at average grocery stores. The other wonderful thing about this cookbook is that EVERY recipe contains nutrition facts. It is so difficult to find this advantage in most cookbooks. Also, after most recipes Nava provides "Variations" in case there are ingredients in the original recipe that would prefer not to use. Some of the recipes I've enjoyed from this book include Curried Split Pea Soup, Quick Black Bean Soup, and Thai Style Coconut Pineapple Rice.I highly recommend this book even if you are not a vegan, and I've made these recipes for my meat eating husband and he enjoyed them as much as I did.

Best Vegan Cookbook!
Love this cookbook. If you were to have one vegan cookbook, this would be it. All ingredients are simple and easy to find, recipes are simple and fast, and out of the 15 recipes that I have tried all have been great. Just about every recipe in this book is on my "to try" list and that never happens. Book organization and index is also good . And there are a lot of helpful hints scattered throughout the book - homemade spice mixes to minimize salt intake, alternative ingredients, homemade condiment recipes like sour cream and cheddar cheese, and suggestions for ready-made items including brands the author has tried and liked.

Great Food Recipes...easy to make!
This is by far the best vegan cookbook I've cone across. I first checked it out from the library then later purchased the eBook. I live that Nava has unique recipes made with easy to get veggies fruits and grains. I don't have to go to the expensive health food store and pay money I don't have to eat well. I've made so many recipes from this book and I hope to really make vegan eating more frequent for me and my family.

Her best yet
As a longtime fan of Nava Atlas, I think this is one of her best books. As always, the recipes are simple, innovative, healthy, and most importantly, delicious! There are no fake meats in this book, and just a few recipes call for vegan cheese; the vast majority of recipes are whole-foods. My favorite recipes so far include beans & greens burgers, pinto and quinoa sloppy joes, and the energy bars (dates, hemp seeds, sunflower seeds, chia, and chocolate). This book will be in constant use in my kitchen!

This vegan cookbook provides; Nice recipes; Stacks of information on nutrition; Limited illustrations of recipes
This is a recipe book with some lovely and flavourful dishes.However, as explained by Nava in the introduction the book is not done in a traditional layout with recipes listed in order like, mains, side dishes, desserts etc. For me this is annoying. I spend a lot of time reading through the book to find the right kind of recipe for my purpose, which can be frustrating if you are short on time, say for an evening meal and just want to find a quick inspiring and tasty looking recipe.There is also a lot of text to read through! Great if you really want to educate yourself on the ins and outs of vegan-ism but not so if you are trying to get to the core of the matter - the recipes! I was a little surprised at the relatively low number of recipes considering the size of the book, but then it is very information heavy with regards to nutrition etc.So overall, I think the book is okay:- The recipes are lovely. However, it would be desirable if the dishes were categorized and listed into dinner, lunch, quick meal etc. by index in the back.- More illustrations of the individual dishes would also be a bonus. Always makes me want to try a new dish more if I see a picture of it.- Less text would also be desirable - which would free up space for more illustrations ... but that's just my personal opinion of course :-)
