Need to replace a burnt outlet
I had to buy a new outlet due to my son trying to mess with the old outlet and burnt it. He's okay but now I had to fix it. Its important that when fixing a burnt outlet that you check the breaker and ensure everything is okay before replacing and then plugging things into it. Mine was okay since I had a more sensitive breaker set up for my kids room so I know there was no damage to the wires. This outlet was really study and felt like it was made well. I had bought an easy install one and I still preferred this one. I know it should be able to handle whatever devices we plug into it, more so than the breaker or wires. If any other outlet goes out, this is the one I will get again.

Plug and play
Very easy to install. All bolts were there. Good quality. Clean look. Only issue I had was that some of my old plugs were groundless. Outlet still works though.

A solid replacement
The duplex socket that this unit replaced came with the house that was built 40 years ago. The electrician used the the backstabber connections which is against code in many states. Because this amateur made a sloppy connection, the wire fried. The sockets are wired in a daisy chain fashion so it was VERY difficult to determine which socket was bad or id a wire behind the drywall fried. So this blockhead caused me many hours of work so that he could save five seconds by not installing these sockets properly.This unit does not have backstabber connections and is a much better quality device... at a great price!

Nice outlet
Needed a replacement outlet for a box which had light switch and outlet in it.The previous switch needed to be replaced and I replaced it with a GE switch which was just a little larger than the previous one so I needed to replace the outlet as well so my cover would be even. So I bought this GE outlet.Installation was a snap. Now, I'm no electrician nor am I a "handyman". I'm more of a geek, but I understand how electricity works. So this comes with all the screws you need including the ground I have a 3-wire system so I attached one to the top, one to the bottom, and then the ground. (or is that called a 2 wire and ground setup? Who knows!) Anyway, the screws tightened well, and the size was perfect.It fits with my switch and my cover very well.I like this GE outlet so much better than the original. It just feels solid. Not sure what else to say except that it works!I hope this review was helpful!
