Higgins 466125 Safflower Gold Natural Food For Conure/Cockatiel, 25-Pound

Received this in a very timely fashion, product cockatiel food was fresh good odor seed variety and pellets with dried foods were evenly added and not a ton of sunflower seed, But compared to other brands and specific food this was A+. Only one drawback and not with the food the packaging it was mailed in was splitting open. Due to weight barely got it in the house before box tape split. But otherwise I recommend and will buy again. My birds can’t wait for me to put it in their bowls they actually pace on the bar and eagerly get busy eating when I move away less seeds on the floor since what they like is easy since the seeds are more to their liking and not as much sunflower seed pellets are their size and varied in color shape and thickness they tend to eat more of them. Good value for money like the citrus smell and actually I went back and ordered two more bags a week later.

Our mustache parrot/parakeet loves this brand and mixture. We love it cuz no sunflower seeds. The 25# bag is a great savings cuz one 3# bag is $14 x 8 = $100 or so and this cost $60. The velcro type resealable bag makes it easy to store and protects from unwanted feeders-bugs- and keeps it fresh for the 8-10 mths it takes for our bird to go thru. We store in cool dry area and we have no bug issues or food spoiling or bird not eating. I also got a big laugh from the rating area that asks about flavor. Bird loves it. We have never tried it :-)

I have 5 Quakers and a blue nape Amazon. This is on the pricey side but worth it. I mix a few different kinds together and they all love it.

Since Covid, it’s been very difficult to get what I used to which was actually another brand & I was at the point where I just bought small bags from the pet stores. Other brands were just too expensive to buy at a bulk price. Recently started checking again and came across this brand and it was the right size. Price is a bit high but not as bad as a 25lb bag for over $100. Lasts me now about 2-3 weeks which works better.

Our cockatiels really like this new seed mix. It has a good variety of seeds and dried fruits . They really love safflower seeds. This mix is perfect because it has a good amount of those seeds but not too many. It’s also nice because it doesn’t have fatty nuts. They sometimes threw lots seeds out of their bowl, but I don’t notice them doing that as much with this mix. They seem to really like it. I highly recommend this mix.

This one seems darker and my birds DO NOT like it. I just wasted 71 dollars. I have to get them more food now.
