We ended up throwing out the fountain. The fountain would leak water all the time and we would have water pool on our floors in the vicinity of the fountain. The problem was with the pump, it's squarish and fits into a predefined box in the "hidden" part of the reservoir. There is a little suction cup on the bottom front of the pump that's suppose to keep it in place. Then there is a "hole" on the top that's suppose to align with a tube from the top part of the fountain that pushes the water up and out into the "drinkable" part of the reservoir. However, the pump 'hole" and the tube don't actually fit inside of each other. Instead they are designed to sit on top of each other. The problem we had was that the back end of the pump (the side without the suction cup) wouldn't sit flush with the bottom of fountain and would raise. This would cause the "hole" and the tube from the top part to became misaligned and the pump would just shoot the water up the side causing a slow leak and an ineffectual flow of water within the fountain.//Edit-Upon further review it appears we were missing a part of the pump that connects it to the "tube". Having that part would have made a difference in how the fountain worked and the review. We didn't receive the part, so the review stands.//

Nice fountain. Motor is pretty quiet - quieter than the sound of the running water. My cats adjusted to it quickly after a few curious stares. I turned off the pump at first so they got used to the new bowl and then added the running water. Both cats can drink at the same time and I don't have to refill several times a day like I did with their old bowl. Plus it stays fresher. Love that it comes with a few replacement filters, too.Hint: you will probably need to adjust the pump speed. If it is too low, water will not cascade; if it is too high, it will splash.

Overall okay fountain. Does what it’s supposed to and is a good size. My cat is still transitioning over to it, but I’ve caught him checking it out a few times. My only issue with it is the noise. You can definitely hear the hum of the motor, and can also hear water dripping as well. In the video you can hear the motor, as well as see that the dripping noise stems from water spilling over the sides, rather than going directly down the slide. This is on the lowest motor setting.Because of the noise I usually unplug at night. I live in a small apartment, and this fountain sits in my room.I’d actually give this 3.5 stars but would be willing to bump up to a 5 if anyone has a solution for the noise piece.

The 3 star review isn't because of the lack of adoption by my cats (that's always hit or miss) but the product itself, it's okay. It was easy to put together however from day 1, one of the rubber suction cups for the pump will not stick to the base of the well and they pop off the pump very easily when you remove it for cleaning. The water flow adjuster on the pump is very sensitive and not the easiest to change. I could not put it all the way up as water would splash everywhere (even without a max fill) and it was very noisy! It took me quite awhile to find the sweet spot where the water flowed at a good pace without splashing and excessive noise. Now that I've found the sweet spot, it's very quiet just be patient with it. For cleaning, it's easy to take apart/put together but it does take some time if you clean it well and boy, be careful not to hit the flow adjuster because then you're back to square one. I will continue to keep this going because in hopes the cats will eventually use it more but I would not buy it again or recommend to a friend.

It works but that's about all the good I have to say for it.The fountain arrived yesterday but I wasn't able to set it up then because one of the suction cups on the bottom of the pump was only half inserted at the factory, so the pump wouldn't stay attached to the bottom of its well. The suction cup will NOT just push back into place, it required the use of an eye loupe (magnifying glass) and the end of a small paper clip to reinsert it this morning. After numerous attempts to align the output tube of the pump with the tube in the middle section of the fountain, it still buzzes constantly from the vibration of the pump's tube against the middle section's tube. The tolerances are too tight to fit an O-ring in to dampen the vibrations.I'm going to return it and order something that works

Took a few days for them to understand what this fountain was for, and now they pretty much exclusively drink from it. My cat loves to drink directly from the spout. Very easy to clean too. It was a little difficult to get the top lined up with the motor, and the fountain does get a little loud. But we don't have to constantly replace the water with "fresh" water like we had to with a regular water bowl.

Young cat, 8 mos old liked it, although a bit skeptical at first. Like many other drinking fountains, it became noisy after a while. I put my technical skills to work, and after replacing the hard plastic pipe that connects to the pump with a piece of surgical tubing, and setting the pump output about halfway, it is now quiet, making a soft hum. Merry Christmas, Princess Lucki Tigerpuss!Update: Fountain works well, but I cannot find replacement filters. They are tapered top-to-bottom to fit the slot in the fountain. Buyer beware!If you have a little technical skill, you can save the original filters, take them apart, and replace the foam insert. It just appears to be a coarse foam that isn't more than a crude filter. If you don't want to be bothered, I suggest another brand, and some spare filters...
