This beam is nice and sturdy but it has a little bit of padding on top so it’s not the same as a regulation beam. The material is different as well and I don’t know how well it will hold up over time but for the price it is well made. My daughter loves it and is using it every day. If you want a standard competition beam like the gym has, this isn’t it, but you will pay much more for that. For a practice at home beam this is great.

I ordered this beam after another one didn’t come! It was here within the week and works great! Sturdy enough for a man!! My daughter loves it!!!

This beam is probably decent for beginners. The padding on ours is relatively squishy and not even close to as firm as a regulation beam. The squishy padding makes landings from jumps or leaps a little sketchy, so I can imagine it would be similar for flight skills. We have an old squishy foldable beam, and this beam definitely has a similar feel. Almost as if a regular beam was wrapped in foam. It definitely makes it harder to grip the beam. That being said, a beginner using this for different walks, or handstands/cartwheels would probably get use out if it.

My daughter is 3.5 year old and we found this gymnastic equipment great to be used as a first beam for little kids with its soft surface. This balance beam is 8 Ft long and the height is adjustable. Easy to assemble and looks sturdy so far. She now practices gymnastics daily.

Our grand-niece is 4 and likes gymnastics. I think she'll enjoy this for a few years to come.
