I use this as little as possible as I don't want to distress my dog unduly but actually she just stops in her tracks & looks at it enquiringly whenever I press the button. I have never used it outdoors, just when she gets overexcited barking at home.

Started off working well, definitely improved the barking situation at first. Over time the dog took less notice and became desensitised to it. I've needed to use it a few times per week as my dog barks at guests. Overall it didn't help.

You have to be within about 1m of the device before it goes off. The troubleshooting instructions say "adjust range settings" Issue with that is there is no knob or buttons to control the range settings. I know I have not missed them since, in the layout picture there is no mention of it... Probably suggest looking at another device.

Waste of money as my Yorkie didn't take much notice.

I got this two days ago to see if I can combat my 2.5 yr old rescues habit of barking at any people or vehicles that pull up or walk by my house, I charged it and popped it in the hallway to see what happens.My dog who is friendly and never scared of anything (fireworks don't even bother him) barked once and then turned into a quivering mess, he was shaking all over with his tail between his legs and so confused, I ended up having to put the device in the garage as I had no idea if it was still going off and he was so distressed. It took 45 minutes of my stroking and talking to him to get the shaking to subside and I was very upset that I caused this which I think he could sense. He then went into the garden and would not come in from the rain for another 4 hours, when he finally came in, anytime I moved to shut the back door he would bolt back out. He finally came in and went to sleep 3 hours later. He was so unhappy and I have never seen him like that.I cannot stress enough that you should not get this for yours or anyone elses dog, I am lucky that Ted is a confident and normally not spooked dog but if he had been a rescue with bad history or a nervous dog this could have been much worse. Anything or anyone who says this is humane is very wrong and I am kicking myself for not doing more research!!!

I bought this device as my dog had started barking at night for no apparent reason, and I was concerned that she would disturb my neighbours. Reading the product description and reviews, this seemed like the perfect solution, and I was under the impression that the device would only activate if she barked. Initially, once I turned it on she was interested in the area of the kitchen where it was positioned, walking back and forth in front of it. Once she barked, the device emitted a couple of clicks that were audible to myself, and my dog fled from the room, tail between her legs, shaking. It took much coaxing to get her back into the room once the device had been turned off. Once she was calm and settled, I again turned the device back on, assuming that it was the ultrasound that had deterred her, and once again - without her barking this time - she fled the room and was visibly shaking, clearly stressed. I don’t know whether my device is faulty or if it is working as intended, but I have started the return process. I will research other techniques for deterring barking as this seems to be a very cruel way of doing it and is not worth stressing my dog out for.

Initially this seemed to work brilliantly, stopped my dachshund from barking incessantly, and then we didn’t even need it as he just wasn’t barking much, however he has started again, and now he just ignores this device completely!

I'm not sure how to rate this as it seems to make the neighbour's dogs jump up against the fence even more! Quite scary really!It obviously makes a sound but not sure about it's effectiveness for it's intended use I'm afraid!
