This thing packs a PUNCH and HEFT.
***Warning: Review by a DIYer home mechanic, not a "day to day" professional mechanic.************************************************************************************************************************The Good:Very powerful. Forward. Reverse. Don't matter. With a DEWALT 8AH battery pack on power setting #2, this thing unscrews 22mm wheel nuts and 21mm caliper bracket bolts very easily, even the ones with orange Loctite.Power setting #3 it's overkill most of the times to tighten anything and unscrews anything violently.Don't get distracted or this thing it's going to smack you and your wrist HARD. 😂The built-in LED lamp emits enough light to see everything in front of the wrench in the dark. The variable speed trigger it's a must have on ANY impact wrench and here it works flawlessly. The pistol grip feels good on a bare, oily, dirty hand but much better and safer (stronger grip) with leather or rubber gloves on, as you should be equipped to begin with before start using this tool.**********************************************************************************************************************The Bad:It's heavy. DEWALT claims 7lbs w/o battery. If you're planning on using it for extended periods of time and if you slap a big 8AH battery pack like a did, it's just going to get worse. Not a problem for me as I went in knowing that.Under prolonged heavy use you WILL physically destroy your batteries. The high power and the resulting vibrations are a double edged sword.I try to minimize the problem by grabbing the battery with one of my hands when using the wrench.DEWALT does not make the battery bumper, a.k.a BATTERYGUARD(TM) standard equipment, however, they'll be happy to sell it to you as an extra. That tells you that they know there's a problem but feel it's not critical enough yet to hurt their sales and tarnish their name. Time will tell.Don't trust the PRECISION WRENCH(TM) mode, use your own hand feel judgement and experience and you'll be better off. I tried it, then went over it with a manual wrench to assert my suspicions and felt it was way off when it came to applying the correct amounts of torque on different fastener types and sizes. The "run off prevention on reverse" feature did work as advertised but I see it more as gimmick than a true helping feature. JMHO.*******************************************************************************************************************Final Thoughts:If you need a powerful and reliable cordless impact wrench, be it at home and even at the shop, you won't be disappointed with this one.👍

Has broken loose ensuring I've thrown at it.
The breakaway torque of this thing is amazing. I usually keep it on bolt mode so it eases into it. It's broken rusty exhaust free without breaking studs, and it has taken off most of the axle nuts we've thrown at it with the first try, with minimal effort, and very smoothly. This definitely keeps up with the other snap-on and Milwaukee air and battery impacts we have around the shop at a very reasonable price point. We'll see if the quality holds.

Heavy but effective.
Frankly this thing is a tank. I got it because I had to replace the stump jumper and blades on my bushhog. Long story short I hit a chunk of buried metal and shredded the blades. My phunumatic impact could not get the bent and messed up bolts off. This thing didn't even struggle. The head size of the bolts is 1-1/2 inch. It took them off like they were 5mm. A bit heavy but you'll get used to it. It rotates quick. And functions great. I assume it's gonna drink the battery cause of the power.

This big dog eats.
This thing is a beast. It’s quite large and not something you’d necessarily want to have as a daily use tool, but keep it around for heavy duty work and it will make light work of a whole lot of stuff. Rusty 1” nut on a 60 year old truck? This thing took it off as if it was fastened with 5 FtLbs

Powerful!!
Love this impact wrench! Lots of power for a battery-powered impact wrench and it was able to dislodge the bolt that some overzealous automotive tech at my dealer tightened it with! After I tried using 3 and 4 foot breaker bars to no avail!

Great tool.
It’s heavier than my old one but it works so much better.

Very good tool
This is a great tool. Very powerful. I used my old one until it just doesn't have the power it used to. I took apart the old one, the hammers still work well. That is the limit of my expertise.Dewalt has gotten rid of most of their sercice centers. I guess these are disposable tools now like everything else. While it lasts, it's a joy to use.
