Beautiful artwork; horrible production
We love Michael Stirring's puzzles. His art is just lovely. However, the last two we have done have sorely lacked quality. In this NOLA one, the colors were horribly off, which you can compensate for somewhat, but we didn't have an entire image of the puzzle we were working on. The box's front cover image is significantly cut off, so we were missing four inches of the right side of the image. The top inch and a half is missing, too. The good news is that the cover has an extra half inch of image the puzzle doesn't have! There is also a printed sheet with the image in the box. Alas, the whole image isn't on that as well. Different parts of the puzzle image are missing from the reference sheet than are missing from the box image. We thought we could sort of piece things together. Nope. In the end, the puzzle isn't entirely represented by any of the images, alone or in conjunction, on the box.Aside from the difficulty of trying to work a puzzle without a complete reference image that is also a different color, the puzzle is a delight. The pieces are thick, and they fit well together. There was very little puzzle dust inside the bag, too.
