Amazing book
This is an amazing book. Full of wisdom, motivation, inspiration. Scott sonnon is an increddible person , overcoming obesity, violent bullying, abuse, learning difficulties and joint disease. Having suffered all this and more he managed to become a multiple world champion, fitness guru, author and speaker. Through his hard work and training hes managed to turn himself into a “motor genius” by mastering human movement, hes testament that with hard work and dedication anybody has the power to transform themselves no matter the circumstances. The only thing i disliked about the book is just the “title name”, as i i dont think the title does the book the justice it deserves. Many may read the title and be put off, but trust me the content is gold standard as with all of scotts work

Well Written Autobiography in a Novel Format.
I have become friends with Scott Sonnon over the last fours years that he has written this book. His writing has improved dramatically in that time through this daily ritual of writing about his past, examining through the lens of the great philosophers and searching for the lessons and self-improvement in his current days. As I read his daily postings on Facebook that were the genesis of this book, I slowly adopted a similar mindset of examining my own life through this lens of re-framing life's circumstances into "this is exactly what I need to adapt and improve". It proves to be a very successful formula, even just reading Scott's stories written in this manner, let alone copying the formula by writing your own story in this manner. The key lesson in Scott's story is that you do not need to escape your past, but to re-cast it as the crucible for your current transformation and that we all have inherent worth and genius that just needs to be released from our fears and doubts. The short stories are inspiring, heartbreaking, and humorous at times. If you like stories of the underdog starting in last place who becomes a champion, wins the girl, and lives happily ever after, get this book. It only takes Scott several decades to get there, but you can read about in the remaining days of this summer! I started following Scott Sonnon in 2010 on my way to a year combat tour in Afghanistan. His coaching, his writing, and his TACFIT fitness program transformed me from a bitter, out of shape middle aged Army officer into a much better and healthier version of myself. Even if you are not struggling with dyslexia or life's adversities, this is still a good book for expanding your view of those people you know who may be. I know that as a parent of four boys, these stories and the lessons embedded within, have helped me be more present and intentional as a father. I highly recommend this book and have thoroughly enjoyed the short story format.

Nutrient Dense Inspiration
One could look at the cover of this book and think "who does this guy think he is?". You could look at the sub heading (Confessions of a Suppressed Genius) and roll your eyes. Either of these reactions would lead you away from a truly remarkable story. Coach Sonnon's words are powerful as a natural consequence to his amazing life experiences, and after training with him personally I can say he is the real deal. He is the most approachable person I have ever met... It truly blew my mind how a man of his stature can be so humble and eager to help people. As a martial arts and yoga instructor I originally came upon his work via fitness DVDs, and have been following his work ever since. This book is presented in small but potent chapters that can be read quickly, yet digested for days. I am purposefully reading it slowly. Along with his Primal Stress program, this is my favorite work of his. I considered giving it 4 stars only because I know he's the type of guy who would use that as fuel to write even better book next time. Inspiration is like food, it should nourish us daily. This book is nutrient dense inspiration!

I've had the great pleasure and honor of mentoring under Scott for the better part of the last decade. I was originally attracted to his Clubbell and unconventional approaches to fitness. But what really drew me in was Scott's unmatched ability and desire to CARE. This book is a collection of his own battles, struggles, and failures, brilliantly unveiled as the blessings and opportunity they truly are. As someone who's overcome countless seemingly impossible obstacles, Scott champions the underdog in each of us and helps us realize the true magic and opportunity within each "failure" moment. As a new mom with limited time for reading, I love that this book is composed of short, bite-sized stories that can be read out of order. I enjoy reading these stories to my son, who may not be able to consciously understand the words quite yet, but can most certainly feel the generative principle of care Scott harnesses so well. For any and all who have experienced the peak and especially the valley, this book puts things into context for your next positive step forward.

I was first introduced to Coach Scott Sonnon through his Tacfit & CST programs. Coach Sonnon's personal account of his life, his dyslexia among other things is full of ancedotes, personal reflections etc. Sonnon writes, in a way that is inspiring to people from all walks of life.“Take a deep exhale. It calms the mind and clears the goal, even in the greatest fog.” After reading Sonnon's book I have a new resovle in helping the individuals I come into contact with, in my remit of work (young adults with Autism, Learning disabilities or as I like to call it Learning uniquely).I highly recommend this book!!!
