LOVE this for 2.5d!
These ball nose bits are amazing for finishing up 2.5d relief carves! Totally clean cuts and has stayed sharp through hard and soft woods alike! I would absolutely recommend this for anyone looking to get that extra out of their carves! - 10/10 would get this again!

Great alternative to the big name brands
I'm very happy with the quality of this bit.I have been using this bit in my home made PrintNC CNC machine with a 1.5 KW spindle. I am getting very good results on 3d carves in pine. The bit came very sharp but unfortunately the tube wasn't labeled.Overall, I can't see much difference in cut quality between this and my more expensive name brand bits. If you're looking to get into 3d carving and would rather not break a more expensive bit, this is your bit. If this one lasts I see no reason not to switch over to these as my primary bits.I highly recommend you give this one a shot just make sure you observe proper feed and speed settings to keep from overheating it and shortening its life.

Missing bit
I don’t want to give a bad review because I think the bits are great. Unfortunately one was missing out of the three that were supposed to be sent. I received the pouch that it was supposed to come in with the correct bar code and product number slapped on it but the bit was not in it. No, the bit did not fall out of the pouch into the package. I tore the package apart looking for it and it’s definitely not here. Just a heads up, probably should buy all separately just in case one is missing so you don’t have to send all three back to get one replaced.

Glad to have this bit
I've seen several CNC tutorials suggesting using a tapered ball nose bit for certain operations so this is a great addition to my bit set. It's sharp as expected. Note the plastic case isn't labelled (something I always appreciate) but not a deal breaker. I don't have a project in the queue that needs this bit just yet, but I'm looking forward to using this soon and I don't think it will let me down.Overall, Highly RecommendedItem: YOKISHUN CNC Router Bits Spiral Tapered Ball-Mill 2D & 3D Carving Bits, 6.2 Deg Tapered Angle Ball Tip R0.4, 1/4"Shank 3"OVL for Wood Carving Engraving Detail Profile

Durable quality
I am a novice when it comes to this kind of cutting bit and wanted to use a proper tool to drive it but the high speed grinder I intended to use was unavailable in time to review. I chucked it into a variable speed 18V drill which is not high enough in speed to suit a CNC bit like this. The small 1/8" ball end is ideal for what I'm looking for - engraving details in stone and wood sculptures. I tried a few samples of each. It was leaving a half round groove of consistent depth and didn't grab or stall or create chipping as it was being manipulated by hand.I look forward to making use of it for that purpose and I'll come up with a few others in time. It's a well finished tool and comes in a tight fitting case for protected storage.

Best results with high RPMs
Tested on pine wood using a handheld router rather than CNC machine. Initially there was some walking, but I found the issue was using too low a speed on my router. When putting it to higher speeds, this bit did not stall and it cut rather smoothly. Rather impressed with the performance and the thinness of this bit will really help for my carving work.

Checked with optical pre-setter
Tool feels sharp, coating isn’t easy to scratch off, geometry matches fairly well to description (only a few tenths small in diameter by my standards) and weight is about what it should be from carbide.Having all dimensions listed on the shank is a nice plus if you want to model in a custom geometry tool for simulation purposes. This is especially useful with a tapered bit like this to not scrap any carving work. All in all a pretty well made tool it’s hard to tell how it performs after months of use but for now it’s been great.

Good option for 2.5D Relief CNC work
The media could not be loaded. I used this for a job and tried it without a roughing pass and it worked out great. The detail was great and the bit shows no sign of wear.

Great bit for fine carvings
The Yokishun 5.4° tapered 1/16" ballnose Bit is a work of art. Precision made, cuts great, holds it's edge well. Good for CNC relief carving. Compared to bits I own from other manufacturers that cost upwards of $100, this bit works just as well for a fraction of the cost.
