Good light spectrum that the seedling absolutely love
Thought i would give these a go, seemed a little 'cheap' and i wasn't expecting much from them, what a surprise! They are well made and feel substantial and not flimsy like some you can buy for the same price. You can switch between red blue and full spectrum at the flick of a remote which works from another room. The light that is emitted does seem to be doing what it should and my plants love it and are doing better with these than the CFLs and another lower wattage full spectrum unit I purchased. Perfect for seedlings. The timer function does seem pointless unless i am doing it wrong, a 10 second timer?? what would that be good for? Does not get hot or overheat, it has a built-in cooling fan, this can be a bit noisy when you switch to the full spectrum if you plan on having it in your living room or office then would be best on blue or red whilst you are in there. Would I recommend it? yes definitely, I don't often leave reviews but these deserve a good one and you will not be disappointed

Not good with timers
I've only started using this in the past week, so it's too early to tell how plants will like it, but there's an important limitation to bear in mind if you're planning on using this with a timer. The light has 3 setting: 1 is red-based for blooming; 2 is blue-based for vegetative; and 3 is just all of the lights, for general use, combination phases etc. Unfortunately, the light does not remember its previous state, so whenever this unit powers up, it does so in setting 1 (blooming). That means that if you're using this light with a timer, every time it turns on it will be set for blooming, and if you want it in position 2 or 3 you're going to have to manually switch it over - every single time. Which kind of defeats the whole point of a timer!I don't know if this is common to all LED lights (this is my first time switching to LED from metal halides), but I really wish I'd known this limitation before making the switch.Other than that, it's pretty bright if you look directly at it, but FAR less bright than a metal halide bulb, so my growing environment looks pretty murky nowadays, but as I say we'll need a few more weeks to see how the plants like it.

Change the battery in the remote, take out after use as the battery drains quickly.
Remotes are faulty. Battery drain is unreal.
