I will be ordering another meter as I have already broke this one. It works well in soft soil like a raised bed or potted plants. I abused it by checking the lawn, and pushed a little hard on a firmly compacted spot. My mistake.

I recently bought a bunch of plants to add color to my home. I’m notorious for killing plants after a few weeks from not watering correctly. I’ve been using this handy device for two months now and my plants are thriving! On the back of package it has a list of common plants and the moisture zone they need to be in. So easy to use and so accurate!

I love it, I am always afraid of overwatering or leave my indoor plant to dry, this Soil Moisture Meter tell me exactly when it’s time to water again.The reason I gave then 4 stars instead of 5, well, I learned that perfect gives no space for improvement, and in life there is always space for improvement…

Apparently a peace lily likes to dry out completely before it is watered, and I couldn't seem to get it right. The leaf tips all turned brown, and when I googled why, it said it was either being over-watered or under-watered. Not helpful. So I thought I'd try the moisture meter and it works so well. My peace lily just pushed up four new white "spathes" because it's so happy.

Great to prevent over watering of indoor plant.

I used this in several planters. I cleaned it in between each planter or each time I inserted it.Day 1 after using in a few planters the tip came off but appeared to still work. Day 2 it appeared to work in a couple planters then the reading stayed at very very dry in all the other planters even those I had watered. I put it in some planters that I had watered around 5-10 minutes prior to see if it would at least register moist but it stayed at very very dry. I tend to overwater and the soil was visual wet and my finger was wet up past the knuckle. Yes, I over watered. It had read very dry.Do not recommend.

This product is so easy to use… you put it in the ground and the moisture reading appears immediately. It works great!

This might be the best looking of these types of water meters I've managed to find - it certainly is classier than the usual bunch out there. It does what it says it does, and the information on moisture levels for different plants is super helpful. It is a little surprisingly expensive for what it is, but I guess thats what you get.There is one quirk to using it that is annoying and I haven't figured out a way to consistently stop it from happening. Often the tip becomes loose or fails to connect with the internal mechanism that allows the device to show the moisture reading. You have to remove the tip, clean it, reinsert it and try reading again. Sometimes you have to do this a couple times before the contact is secure enough for a reading.
