ROOT is already one of my favorite (if not my top favorite) PBtA game. This supplement adds some amazing new factions (some of which I find more interesting than the base ones!), faction moves, equipment, and my personal favorite- advice for running all of the factions! Also comes with two great little adventures at the back.Only real complaint is the layout and information formatting is not always the most convenient- finding a rule on the fly at the table won't be super easy unless you're very familiar with it.Very much recommend, and came in great shape especially due to the plastic shrink wrapping and hard cover.

I do not yet have the base game, Root, but it is a game I intend to acquire eventually. So, I figured it would be good to go ahead and get this expansion deck in advance. Its box looks very beautiful with clear labeling, and it feels smooth and solid. I do find the box quite difficult to open carefully without tearing or otherwise damaging the lid flap. As a game collector, I like to keep all aspects of my games in as close to perfect condition as possible, so I do find the lid bothersome when considering that. The cards have an appropriate thickness to them, and they’re nice and slick, bordering on glossy. They seem like high quality cards. One card with instructions for “creating NPCs” is included. The rest of the cards are character cards. They’re charmingly illustrated, and all printed words are easy to read. The information on the cards is organized neatly and consistently between the cards. Overall, I’m delighted by this deck, and I can’t wait to own and then play the full game.

The screen is a bit smaller then I thought, which I didn’t care about in the slightest. As someone who has never ran their own table top rpg, all the information this screen has on hand has been immensely useful. In my opinion, if you’re going to run this game this is a must buy for your first time.

This is a great set of character cards that help flesh out your Root RPG campaign with fun new characters that fit within the game universe. The cards include stats, motives, and requests for the vagabonds that can be fulfilled as part of your campaign. As with all Root products, the illustration is beautiful and the quality is impeccable, and the 55 new cards mean you'll have fresh material to draw on for some time to come.When I ordered this deck, I didn't actually realize that the Root RPG was even a thing! (I need to hang out on board game discussion groups more.) Our board gaming group has been playing the Root board game for years, so I was excited for a new expansion pack, but this is completely incompatible with the traditional board game and is an add-on for the D&D style tabletop RPG based on the same universe instead.Of course, I did what every rational gamer would do, and promptly bought the RPG book! My group is now diving into the RPG and considering planning our first tabletop campaign, and I'm impressed by the rules and clarity - it's a lot less intimidating than I'd thought a tabletop RPG would be, and it seems like a great introduction to the genre for people who already enjoy the world of Root. I'm excited to potentially spend more time with the characters and start telling our own stories, possibly inspired by some of our memorable trips through the board game, so I'm glad agreeing to review this deck accidentally introduced me to a whole new world of gaming fun!

This little deck has a lot of great preset characters inside and makes rpg flow go so much easier and smooth. Includes 55 different npcs of different types. Good info, good builds. Artwork is cool as always.

This product is way smaller than you might think. It's quite disappointing. It's about half the size of other DM screens with about twice the information. No adult human would be able to read this sitting at a table. Don't buy.
