The focal area of this glass is somewhere between a nickel and a quarter size, at best. Also, if you want to read something, it would work. But, you have to hold the magnifying glass so close to the source that you cannot do anything between the glass and the work. For example, if you are drawing, there is no room for a pencil between the glass and the paper.I have a rectangular magnifying glass that has a completely even magnification over the whole glass where this is nothing like it. I would not recommend it for anything but reading.

I bought one and we all checked it out, easy to hold and with a 10x magnification it is easy to read with. The LED lights also brighten words in the best way to see whats printed. So good that we bought 2 more, I'm thinking on a couple more to be left within areas that you often need to access one. In the kitchen where I can read ingredients and recipes, in the pill cabinet to make sure I know which pill I'm taking and what dosage. Light weight so my arm doesn't tire out quickly, easy to slide the button to turn on the lights.

Ordered this for my husband’s grandmother. She has macular degeneration and depends on a magnifying glass for anything up close. It’s a good strength lens, good light, and the lens itself has a larger surface area than her previous one. She allows me yesterday to say it had arrived and she was so pleased.

I wanted something that would be easy to use, and have a light to help read tiny print. The magnifying glass was a little larger than I thought it would be when I bought it. However, it has worked very well and I enjoy using it. The light really does aid in making things visible when in dim or dark areas. I am pleasantly surprised by how well it works.

I bought this for a friend who has Macular Degeneration and she has very low vision so this is a great help. The light weight glass with the handle holding the batteries makes it so easy to hold.

VERY GOOD IN FEW MONTHS ,LATER 3 LED DIED COMPLETELY ,EVEN MY FATHER WAS TRYING TO REPLACE NEW,NEW BATTERIES. SO SAD ..HE DO NOT KNOW HOW LONG IS A WARRANTY.HE NEED A COMPANY HELP.THANKS

Perfect magnifier - 10 powered, so it has fairly strong magnification, and then along with that, it has a light, so it's perfect for everything from reading fine print, to gemstone assessment, (most gem loops are just 10X magnification.)

Great idea that fails in reality. The magnifying glass is so distorted that it sometimes makes reading even harder. The light does help some. Next time I will invest in a quality product.
