DIE HARD BONUS EDITION BLU-RAY
I'm a big fan of the Die Hard films i already have all the films on DVDwhen i found out about this all new Doco called Decoding Die Hard i knew i had to get itbut first i found out it was only available with the new 5 Disc blu-ray Legacy collectionand i didn't want to pay tons of money on this boxset just for the Bonus Disccause there is another Die Hard film in the works already to be released next year in cinemasit's suppose to be the final Die Hard for the franchise,Bruce willis is rumoured to be retiring from the Character after the final filmwhich i don't blame him, he's getting old that's for sureso of course 20th century fox will re-release another Die Hard blu-ray boxset for next year's filmso i did some internet searching and found out that the original Die Hard has been released asa 2 Disc special edition with the Decoding Die hard Docoso i just bought this 2 Disc edition just to watch the Die Hard Doco and i have no regretsif i should have bought the 5 Disc legacy collection or not.this all new Documentary definitely is new, all interviews are recently recorded last year i guess. All the interviews are featurette's, so you can watch them seperatly all play all the featurette'slike a big Documentary which runs over 90minthis Doco is fantastic, all new interviews and new retrospectives with allthe Directors, Producers, writers, exect producers, only some of the actors/actress's from the seriesare interviewed aswell, but sadly and very unfortunate no interviews with Bruce willis for some reasonone of the featurettes is about the Villans of Die Hard which has never been presentedinterviews with Alan rickman, William sadler, Jeremy ironsalso rare footage from the films some stuff that has been seen already and some footage that hasn'tDefinitely better Documentary than the last one that was released back in 2007-2008for the release of the 4th Die Hardthe blu-ray version of Die Hard i watched 2nd, watched most of it cause i have it on dvd anywaythe picture and audio quality is excellent, the quality has definitely been enhanced by blu-ray techbut the 2007 DVD reissue i have is still excellent picture and audio anywaybut each to their own, it's matter of opinion.so yes there are 2 options either buy the 5 Disc blu-ray collection that has the Bonus Documentary anywayor just get the DIE HARD SPECIAL EDITION BLU-RAY 2 DISC SET,up to you what you want to spend you money on.

No Digital Code included?
At first i liked the 4K picture, although there were a few moments i thought, it didn't look any better than Blu-ray release, certainly has the same audio at 5.1 MA, but the lack of any special features is really disappointing, especially as it is marketed as a 30th Anniversary edition, and on the front cover of the case, not the slip cover, it is advertised as containing a Digital copy, however on opening it up there was no digital code anywhere to be found.I find this rather disappointing.I did ask further, but Fox has been bought out by Disney, and they aren't as yet replied to my request for a digital 4k copy of the movie.

A Monkey in the wrench, pain in the ass
This is the movie that created a whole sub genre that action movies have been following since it's release in 1988. A nifty tight thriller it sets up a really hi concept premise (a term that was coined by legendary producer Don Simpson back in the 1980's - to describe a plot in 2-3 sentences or less, which Hollywood studios had been following through 80's/90's). A cop visits estranged wife at her Christmas party on Christmas Eve in L.A, but ends up having to rescue her and others when terrorist take over the 40 floor High rise. It's a simple concept but perfectly executed and forever made the then new FOX LA HQ the Die Hard building (an iconic landmark just like the film itself). Excellent performances from Bruce Willis as the quip every man hero John McClane and Alan Rickman in a career defining film debut as the villainous Hans Gruber. Its a huge testament to this movie that it has aged much better than other movies of the 1980's and is still remains the definitive action movie of said decade. It has also spawned huge debates about whether it is a Christmas Movie, but needless to say every self respecting action fan will be watching this movie come every Christmas Eve.

Maybe one of the best and greatest action movies of all time never mind the god damn 80s Willis fresh from Moonlighting getting to film this only due to old Cybill getting knocked up thank god she wasnt a swallower haha as the producers then get to use Willis after every leading my in hollywood turned this down saying its to simple no car chase it wont work no leading lady bla bla bla and how wrong they were this is an epic movie that holds up pretty damn good to this day my only fault in it would be one stunt jumping down to a vent and crawling inside has always been a little ugh iffy for me other than that this could have been a perfect movie a young smirky Willis and an always Alan Rickman giving a performance to last the ages great film great watch for all the family some light swear words but no nudity no gore or real blood shed nothing the kids couldnt handle and yes its a god dman xmas movie

Non-stop ridiculous action!
I loved the main "Goodie" and "Baddie", Bruce Willis and Alan Rickman! The action is fast, funny and fantastic. Some great jokes and lots of bangs and crashes - all to Christmas songs. Great!
