Deja Review Neuroscience, Second Edition

I discovered the Deja Review Pharmacology about midway through my Step 1 studying, and on a whim bought most of the series. This is one of the ones I would think twice about. I love the Deja Review format; it's a good way to kill a few spare without getting bogged down in more dense material.However, the Neuroscience book goes into too much fine detail and has too many pages to be helpful. It was not a very high yield book for Step 1 studying, which is a shame because I love the Deja Review series. I think I went through about 30 pages before giving it up entirely. It could perhaps be useful during MS2 coursework, but even then there are better books out there.This is 3rd or 4th tier at best.

A concise review the details of which are very well picked. May or may not be detailed enough for the boards depending on institution but does a fantastic job of solidifying the basics upon which the student can build upon with more advanced material. Highly recommended.

Great, rapid review of the high yield concepts in neuroscience. Saved my life and I highly recommend this book! You won’t be disapointed.

The whole book is just simple word associations, very surface level review. Don't expect much teaching from this book.

Taking Neuro in med school right now.2 cents:Out of all the books I got including BRS neuro and other sources, I find this to be the best investment.

Excellent reiview/overview on Neuroscience/Neurology. Very well compiled in a fashion that allows you to find what you need without searching all over for it. Intuitively arranged.The information is very detailed and concise so it suits its purpose perfectly.

It's good! I love the quick question-and-answer quiz format. It really helps with retention and I recommend this book highly.
