Great product, very powerful firmware.....need to know you pinout though..
Great product if you need console access to serial ports/devices. Used on Cisco devices, ,works great. You need to know the pin out for the DIGI device, you can not connect the Cisco console cable directly and expect to work. You will need to look at the DIGI wiring document they have. I made my own female to female adapter and that way I was able to use the cisco console cable from cisco device to adapter and then use a regular patch cable from the other end of the adapter to the DIGI device.Very powerful firmware, make sure you get the latest model, the legacy model firmware is not as powerful, does not have the same features.Love the fact that you can access the ports from within an ssh session to the DIGI device, or directly by specifying the port number or by using a software like putty and TeraTerm and pointing to the DIGI IP interface.

These are easy to set up using the Digi Discovery Tool
I was looking for a solution to gain console access to my Cisco network gear. It provides both SSH and Telnet access. I first started with the 1 port model, but quickly found out I wanted to control both the router AND switch, so I needed a larger model. These are easy to set up using the Digi Discovery Tool, which is free to download from Digi. The one caveat is the cabling. I have to custom make each cable to connect to my Cisco console port. You can purchase cables from Digi, but they are $19 for a 6ft cable. Another nice thing is they make a wall mount bracket, but it is sold separately. All in all it is a solid product and works as is.

Useful, with Lots of Options
This device seems to work very well. Be aware though, it has LOTS of options. For the novice, it could be daunting. In fact, for most engineers, it could be daunting. But it does work very well.
