Fantastic read. Honest, funny and an insight into the life of someone not desperate to grab the headlines, but got the job done. That’ll do for me Paddy.

Absolutely fantastic
Now this book is the very definition of the genre Biography! This is how a biography is supposed to be written! It’s a story of a person’s life from birth to wherever they are at the time of writing! What a fantastic book from Paddy! I’ve always loved Paddy Mcguinness and have watched him for years on everything he’s ever done. He’s absolutely hilarious and one of my favourite comedians along with Peter Kay. Many don’t see Paddy as a comedian as such because he hasn’t done a great deal of stand up, but many moons ago I did go to watch one of his stand up shows, I loved it, but reading this book he admits it wasn’t one of his best stand ups! I wouldn’t say that, I absolutely loved it and to think he wasn’t happy with that time of his life is a shame…. The audience would have said the same as me I am sure!In true comedian style it’s funny throughout, whilst touching in places and towards the end of the book finding out Paddy suffers with anxiety was a complete shock because nobody would ever know that. Given his massive personality on all of his TV shows, you would never imagine what he has been through in a million years because he hides it so well! It made me think all the more of him as a person to not let that affect his work.He has recently done a documentary with his wife Christine about having autistic children and it brought me to tears, I am looking forward to his wife’s book coming out as I will definitely be reading that. I didn’t know anything about his wife really before watching the documentary and reading his book and so I will been keen to read that when it’s out.A brilliant book by a brilliant guy. Please do more stand up Paddy, you were made for it!

It was alreet
It was alreet. I'm not really a Paddy McGuinness fan tbh. I've always thought that he has stood on the shoulders of giants and can run with the hare and hunt with the hound. However, this book has changed my opinion somewhat. He does definitely know how to play the game, that comes across loud and clear, but he doesn't appear to be covert about it or kid himself - or attempt to kid others - that he is something he's not.It was an enjoyable, easy read. A bit like sitting in the pub with your mates and one of their friends (who you sort of know through them) walks in, sits down and the pair start reminiscing. The tales that start to flow are all of that nature. Like I said, enjoyable, amusing and relateable if you are from a similar background, but also tinged with the sadness which comes to us all in life and which PMcG does not shy away from exploring. Also, I am going to see if Dave Spikey has written a memoir. I've read Peter Kay's and now Paddy's take on things, so it will be interesting to see what he has to say himself.I'll give the book 4 stars because it should have either been longer at this price or less than a tenner for the Kindle version. It's not like you can pass it on to anyone else like you can with a hard copy. Paddy will appreciate that...he would probably have found some way of nicking it or have got a snide version off the market or some bloke down the pub.

Thought provoking
Like many people I had no idea how autism affected not only the child but the lives of parents and siblingd. Well done Paddy for showing the facts for everyone.

Disappointing
Overall, I found Paddy's autobiography to be disappointing, despite the 5 star reviews. It was too brief and lacking in detail and depth about his childhood and showbiz career. There was also no mention of when his wife Christine was diagnosed with autism, despite mentioning that all 3 of his kids have the condition. I didn't like the way it was written and it was like Peter Kay's disappointing autobiography from all those years ago. One to avoid.

The book came to me damaged.
I like Paddy McGuinness and order his book. It got hear early but one of the pages had a tear in it and so i was not very happy when opened the book and looked through it. I like my books in mint condition so i have marked down a otherwise a very good book that is a very funny autobiography to read. The tear was in the photos of Paddy. As my book was damaged i bought another book from another book retailer.

Top Banana.
I also grew up and come from Bolton, I can hear his voice while reading. Brilliant and down to earth guy and so funny. Live near the Phoenix Club, so we used to go watching them filming😀😁 got told off so many times for laughing while they were doing takes 😆 The all used to come talking and having a laugh when they finished. Very down to earth. Great read Paddy.
