I have been using squeezable butter to butter English muffins because I didn't know about the existence of butter crocks. I love this thing!Mine arrived in perfect condition. It is a sleek onyx black with cute bold white lettering that reminds me of the BTS "Butter" logo.I read all of the directions and multiple reviews before using mine so that I use it correctly. It is easy to dump and refill the water to the marked water line every other day.When it is time to refill the butter, I wash the crock completely, dry it completely and put the base (by itself) in the refrigerator with the water in it. I wait for 4 ounces (half of an 8 oz. stick) of butter to come to room temperature. Once the butter is soft, I smush it into the dome of the lid, making sure there are no air pockets. I leave a wee bit of it not filled to the edge with butter, which uses the full 4 ounces. Then I set the top into the base and set it on the counter out of the direct sunlight.I absolutely love it and have been telling others about it. The bamboo stick is nice, too. I have no complaints!

The butter crock is very well made, and the wood butter knife is so handy, I don’t have to go look for a butter knife. Would definitely buy for gifts.
