One of the most beautiful books I've ever bought. It is rather big, but light, so be ready to get a tall enough bookshelf. Thanks to this book understanding the key concepts of what I consider the best fantasy TTRPG so far was a piece of cake. Playing this is a extremely fun experience, so if you are looking to get started with Middle-earth role playing, you could either try this or the Starter Set (which also includes dice).

If you are a fan of The One Ring TTRPG, then all of the books from Free League Publishing are must haves, especially for the Lore-master. The quality of the content and the book itself are top notch and should last you a lifetime; hopefully, passing this down to the next generation. As an aside, and for more incentive, sadly these types of publications tend to go out-of-print over time. So, having them even before you need them may be a good idea.

As with every Free League book I've gotten, the quality is top of market, and the content focused and excellent. My only hesitation is that the book leaves me wanting more: perhaps a few more pages?This is great for GM/DMs who want light rules and know the source material (Tolkien). For those starting, do read up the 2024 DMG for running a campaign, and reread your LotR books.

The item arrived well packed. The system is a lot of fun to play. This adds a hours of game play to your campaign! The quality is great and I love the finish on the cover.

These are specifically for The One Ring. The dice are lightweight and basic quality.I’d only recommend them if you really want the symbols.

I have not had a chance to play this game, so this is going to be my thoughts on the book and how the game is presented, not the gameplay.The binding, art, etc are all great. It even has a ribbon for keeping your place, which is a nice touch.The game itself is a little complex, but not more so than Dungeons and Dragons. It's well-situated in the world of the Lord of the Rings, and everything feels like it belongs there. However, I think they may have gone a little far in the use of quotes from the book in some cases. There's a letter from Gandalf at the beginning that includes the "follow your nose" quote, I think, and that's a little cringe for me.Having an adventure phase and downtime phase works very well for me. I like the rules for Journeying especially, since travel is such a key part of Tolkien's stories, and such a hard thing to get right in other RPGs.
