Best Gunsmith Grip Roll Pin Punch Tool Set in Zippered Organizer Carry Case (9 Pieces) BOOSTEADY

I bought these to do a little gunsmithing which requires punching out some punch pins in the frame of a firearm. They work perfectly.

I first used it on a 10/22, and it had a pin for its roll pin in the bolt. I have used it on other guns and lent it and its fit all the pins I needed it for. It has a plastic insert in the tip. I guess to protect the tip from bending or maybe to protect the gun from scratches from the it. I don't know how far back the insert goes though and I wread a review where the punch bent so I'm always carful. I hit them as hard as I need to but I've never really went at it with a sticking pin before. The case is good. The elastic band that holds the punches in place isn't too tight so you can't get them in easily. Nor is it to loose where they fall out. Its proper on my pin sets case.

I used these to remove coil roll pins rusted into a snowblower auger shaft... Beat on them with a 5lb sledge for an hour or more and the only sign of use the the back end looks like it was beat with a hammer... tried PB blaster, heat, regular punch... finally ended up drilling through the coil spring pins with a carbide tipped masonry bit to loose them up enough that they would come out... They are a normal length but I needed 12inches more... used a deepwell socket and extension... wrap the end if the punch in a paper towel and put it in the socket... THEN full on hammer blows with the sledge... The shafts are still straight and the center pin/edges are still in good condition...They live up to the description and worked well.

I did not have a set of roll pin punches, these seemed to have good reviews so I thought I would give them a try. I like the carrying case so it's easy to keep track of the set. So far so good, but I haven't had to put them to any extreme use to this point. I used the second to the smallest one to remove a roll pin on a pistol slide and it worked as designed.

I have a few that didnt bend.

Decent set for the price.Used this on both an AR-10 and AR-15 build.Bent the 1/16 on a gas tube roll pin. But replaced that one with a Starrett for about 7 bucks, total investment was well worth it as the other punches worked without issue.Case is nice but not very handy if you use the punches a lot. Very nice quality in the perfect sizes for gun maintenance and repair. Case is very nice and keeps things together.

The quality of product is excellent, and is sold in a carry pack. I resolved a roll pin problem that I had for months in a few minutes.

Needed a decent set of punches for working on my air rifles. Good range of sizes, well made and come in a nice case. I'm very pleased with them and think they're good value for money. Just one word of caution, they are marked in Imperial sizes, not metric! doesn't concern me but might others!
