Olive Wood Salt Keeper/Pot/Salt Box with Magnetic Pivoting Lid

Used to struggle with salt in a little jar - the crystals would get stuck in the lid and end up on the stove or counter - a mess each time. Now, with this lovely salt container, the lid can be swung open with the same hand that is holding the container and the other hand used to pinch and sprinkle the salt. This is a sturdy and beautiful container. Soon, I'll get another one for my other type of salt! I think also it would make a lovely gift.

This salt box is absolutely beautiful. The lid slides smoothly. It keeps out moisture. Wood looks high quality. I love being able to grab a pinch while cooking. I love that I can use coarse or fine salt vs my salt mill which takes only coarse. This looks so classy sitting out next to my pepper mill. I’m so glad I finally bought this! Also, would make a beautiful gift.Only 2 draw backs-Little flaws in the wood around the hinge, like they didn’t drill the hole carefully enough. However, it’s barely noticeable and doesn’t bother me so kept it anyways.Secondly, I think it could bother some cooks that you have to grab this with your fingers. Hands get messy while cooking and you have to grab salt with clean hands so as not to contaminate the rest. Again, this doesn’t bother me, but it’s worth considering before purchasing this.

This is a great looking salt box and the fit and finish are top notch. I would recommend as a gift or personal use. With a little care with food grade mineral oil it should last a lifetime.

I love the olive wood salt keeper, similar to this one, that I have had for years. It’s beautiful and handy on the countertop to quickly get a pinch or two of kosher salt when I’m cooking. I was searching for one to give as a gift, and picked this one out after reading the positive reviews. I’m so glad I did! This salt keeper is well made and solid, and the price was great, too. The magnetic, pivoting lid fits perfectly around the edges and pivots smoothly. The wood was dry when it arrived, but that was easily resolved by a coat of wood cutting board mineral oil/conditioner on the outside.The two photos with the richer color are after conditioning. I was a bit concerned when I received the package, as the salt keeper was only wrapped in a thin layer of bubble wrap in a bubble envelope, but it was undamaged. I would definitely purchase this again.

We purchased the Naturally Med Olive Wood Salt Keeper/Pot/Salt Box with Magnetic Pivoting Lid because our previous salt olive wood salt box had cracked. Our previous salt pot was twice as expensive and not nearly as good as this one. The wood on this is thick and the lid swivels on a hinge in the wood and gently locks closed with a magnet. It does not tip over when open all the way (our previous salt box tipped over when the lid was open all the way and there was not enough salt to balance it). Very happy with this purchase and recommend it.

This olive wood salt pig is just what I was looking for. No chemical finish on it and works very well. Good item. I recommend!

When I received this item, there was a chip in the wood in the back by the swivel attachment. There was a crack down the wood below it as well. I assume that this happened during the shipping process? Too much of a hassle to return so I kept it. It is definitely beautiful and easy to use.
