As beverage napkins go, it is a heavier beverage napkin with plenty of absorbancy. Equal to a couple of some of the thin ones.I would not call it a 2 ply napkin, because it has only 1 layer, folded twice to 4 times thickness.The complaining reviewer elsewhere here does not understand what a beverage napkin is. It's not a lunch or dinner napkin. This product is a typical 4-3/4" square and designed to be used at this size under a sweating beverage container. It's also useful as a small napkin for fingers and lips, to keep the large napkin on your lap clean and protecting your clothes. We prefer usung these smaller ones for fingers and lips when eating messy foods.
