Visually very pleasing! Great SMD soldering practice kit, but mechanical design needs improvement.
The media could not be loaded. This kit was a challenge only because at my age (61) the SMD parts look even tinier than they ought to! But with a hands-free magnifier, lots of light, and a soldering iron with a small "wedge" tip I was able to complete the assembly in about 5 hours (stretched out over several sessions). The wheel itself works well and looks great, and the gondolas work about as well as you'd expect for something that relies mostly on light, casual contact. They are very light in weight, so you can't apply a lot of spring tension with the LED wire leads and still expect them to dangle well. And speaking of the LED leads, the amount of bending required (and the critical placement of the bends) was the second most frustrating part of building the kit. And this brings me to the most frustrating part of the assembly, which IMHO should prompt a redesign (and is the only reason for me giving this kit less than a 5-star rating). The circuit board "wheel" is powered through two spring contacts, and since these are not spaced 180 degrees apart they push the top of the wheel at a sizable angle. These springs are also longer and stiffer than they need to be, so they exert a lot of force that causes the wheel to tilt much too far forward, ruining the overall visual appeal. The designers added a decorative bracket to address this, but there's no bushing on the motor shaft for this to be effective. My recommendation is to place this bracket on the motor shaft BEFORE mounting the circuit board, and then use a non-conductive washer (with a center hole large enough to account for any protrusion of the shaft through the front of the circuit board). Add another, smaller washer on top of this and then secure it with the screw provided. This makes up for much of the tilting, and also compensates a bit for the excessively long/stiff springs. Finally, it's a good idea to buy some dielectric grease (sold at automotive and hardware stores) and lightly coat the inner contact rings on the circuit board as well as the contact rings for the gondolas. This will reduce wear and tear and oxidation of the rings, springs, and LED lead contact points.

Fun little soldering project for various ages and experience levels.
THE KIT: The kit arrived quickly and well packaged. The parts were organized well within the box and were confirmed as being complete. No missing parts and it also included a few extras, just in case parts are lost during building. The instructions are not included with the kit, but there is a card with a QR card that can be used to download a digital version of the instructions. The instructions contained a section that was only wording and a section that has pictures to go along with the steps. Some translation issues, but the gist is there.BUILDING: At first glance it may appear daunting with all of the SMD soldering that needs to be done, but the instructions and design of the components makes it very assembly friendly to those who have moderate soldering experience. The layout is very DIY friendly, which is a great design feature. Good spacing and clearly marked areas on the PCB. To be honest, the most challenging thing I encountered was to remove the protective coating from the acrylic pieces, but the pieces were well protected. Getting the cars to light properly can also be a bit finicky, but some minor tweaking solves the issue quickly. As long as you take your time and follow the steps, you shouldn’t have any issues. Once the kit was completed, the result was quite beautiful with the LEDs running various sequences. Looks great on a desktop!CONCLUSION: I highly recommend this to a broad spectrum of audience. This is both a great educational toy for those looking to improve skills and also makes a perfect gift for those soldering enthusiasts who enjoy tinkering. High quality, moderate price and a neat little toy overall!

A fun kit to build
The media could not be loaded. This is a good kit to practice soldering surface mount electronics. It is a little challenging, but the components are the larger surface mount ones. If you take your time the results are satisfying. The remote changes patterns by pressing a number or the previous/next keys. It helps to have good lighting when soldering. I was able to solder the kit without using a magnifier. I did use a magnifier to help identify markings on the parts and verify they were soldered OK.

Desktop Farris Wheel
The media could not be loaded. This is a fun project and cool desktop toy. I get lots of comments that the lights really remind people of a Farris Wheel. The assembly instructions were great but note they are provided online, linked in the description and do not come with the project in paper.

A fulfilling project to build.
The media could not be loaded. This kit uses well established components that ensure a stable build and long life, The LED's are bright, which is nice. Part placement is shown on the circuit board and in the instructions, which are found through an included scan code. Instructions are step by step and easy to follow, the project was completed in about an hourfrom start to finish thanks to this design. Soldering the parts is made easy by the adequate space between the solder points. This was a fulfilling project to build, the accomplishment was very satisfying. The features worked flawlessly on the finished project , I would not hesitate to try another project from the same company.

Easier than it looks
I Was sent this kit to try. It arrived in about a week. One part was missing so I purchased 10 on webay and the seller paid for it. seller pays attention when something is wrong. Ofcourse you get your answer a day later. There are extra leds, mine all worked. If you download pdf directions and print them it is fool proof. And I was a brief fool. It would help to have a fine point solder gun and wicking mesh as some pins are quite close. I've had some solder experience in the past.I works as it is supposed to and seller is always responsive. Now I'd like to try something else more useful.
