Daredevil - Season 2 [Blu-ray] [2017] [Region Free]

Just in case anyone cares, this is an import, though the product description does not mention that. Bluray box indicates it's not to be sold outside of Australia and NZ, but they're "all region" discs, so it should work in your Bluray player. Just FYI.

This season packs a lot in, but it really boils down to the two new characters, Frank Castle (AKA, The Punisher) played by John Bernthal, and Electra played by Elodie Yung. The first part of the season was really about Castle going off and killing members of various gangs that were involved in killing his family, and Daredevil trying to take him down. Mixed in, was the storyline involving Electra, who is an old flame of Matt Murdock, which ultimately becomes the focus of the last few episodes, and basically leads into The Defenders series, which brings all the characters from the Netflix Marvel series together. Wilson Fisk also makes a couple of appearances from prison and makes clear he is not totally out of the picture. Of course, a key aspect of the show is Matt's balance of real-life as a lawyer (made even more complicated by the fact that Foggy now knows his secret), his feelings for Karen (which become even more complicated because of Electra), and his vigilante activities.Like season 1, the show is very violent. There are a ton of fight scenes and lots of blood, not to mention language and sex that you do not get in the MCU movies or Agents of Shield. So, it is definitely a more adult show. It continues to be well written and acted, and with just 13 episodes the season goes by very quickly. For those who get the blu-rays, it is just a MOD set. There are no extras or bonus material. So, really the only reason to get the discs is if you have a collection of the other movies and TV shows and just want this to have it complete, or are one of those who prefers the physical media over streaming. But, if you only get discs when there is a lot of bonus material and extra features, then you will probably just want to stream this.

This turns out to be the bizarre season of Marvel's Daredevil that splits into two stories: Daredevil vs. The Punisher & Daredevil teaming with the old flame Elektra against the Hand. Apparently, this is the season that led to both "The Defenders" & "The Punisher". In this season, Matt Murdock takes on former war hero-turned-one man's vigilante Frank Castle (a.k.a. The Punisher) who's dramatized by the loss of his family. Then, Matt must joins forces with Elektra to stop the Hand. Meanwhile, Matt, Foggy Nelson & Karen Page are struggling to save Nelson & Murdock Law Firm from being bankrupted. Then, Matt starts a romance with Karen which starts out great until she caught Matt with Elektra. Meanwhile, the Kingpin (who's in prison) begins his plan to destroy Matt Murdock's reputation that led to Season 3.The Punisher storyline was great. Jon Bernthal was excellent as the Punisher. I'm glad MCU gave him his own spin-off. But the Elektra storyline was not as good as the Punisher storyline. I preferred Jennifer Garner's portrayal as Elektra because Elodie Yung lacks the charisma that Garner have as the character.

This product came to me brand new just as described. It played fine in my US xbox one.This season is not my favorite, but the show is so good that it doesn’t matter. The storyline feels a little bloated because they’re giving you stories of the Punisher and Elektra (and Elektra is a little too OP and feminist if you ask me — and just really annoying). At the end of the season they call Elektra “it,” and they don’t explain what she is. Daredevil doesn't seem like he’s quite as good of a fighter in this one too. I think seasons 1 and 3 are better. The first Punisher episodes are intense. If you’re squeamish about blood (I can be when it has to deal with blood draining from someone from a tube and when internal guts are laying outside someone), there’s an episode or 2 in here where there is a LOT of blood.

Pros : Great show with good casting and top notch writing.Cons : U.S. made Blu Ray is very expensive for some reason so I had to purchase this British region zero version at a reasonable price but just as good HD viewing but because of high price for U.S. version I can only give four stars.

You already know how great this show is, so let me answer the biggest question I had with this product. Yes, it does work in the USA! I can't stand the cartoonish artwork on the cover of the Daredevil season 2 blu-rays they sell here in America. Of all the marvel properties you could put crappy cartoon artwork on, the Marvel Netflix shows were the absolute worst choice! Thankfully, our friends overseas didn't make this mistake, and since I've seen Jessica Jones and Luke Cage will also have terrible cartoon covers, I will be purchasing the blu-rays from here again!

Season two packs an even better punch than the first. The introduction of the Punisher and Elektra sets up the rest of the Defenders series' perfectly. Charlie Cox IS Daredevil. I simply can't imagine anyone else playing the character.

great show. I got the USA version for 20 bucks. after u click on blu ray. u have to click the version u want. like it will have a year beside it. USA version is like 50 bucks on here but then it will say available from these sellers for less. and that's how I found mine for 20. it seems like everyone is just clicking on blu ray and just buying I without checking out the other versions. wish it didn't end , need more shows like this. I hate shows made like history and cw etc.i love shows like daredevil, ray Donovan, game of thrones, dc titans, orange is the new black.

How do you follow a great season one, with a even better season 2. My cousin told me before I saw this before I did and said it was the best series he had ever seen. So I had pretty high expectations going into it. This one lived up to them all. I really liked that they gave every character there time to shine, and Matt spending more time as Daredevil was neglecting his responsibilities as well Matt.There are a couple of origins in this series, again these are done very well. Time is taken for the character to develop. Again something done very well from the first season is injuries cuts and bruises are on display from one episode to the next. That said there are some very gruesome injuries/deaths in this season. There is a new vigilante in Hells Kitchen. Ripping through the criminal under world with a vengeance. Yes comic fans will know who he is. I like the way he is shown as Daredevils dark mirror. He is a pain for both Daredevil and Matt.Then just when you think Matt is getting his professional life together, a blast from his past returns to tear it all down. The war Stick eluded to has come to Hells Kitchen. To begin with I did not like this incarnation of this character but as the season progressed, they developed her correctly. They even managed to make a correction I though for the comics, as when Matt finds out Sticks connection he does not just let it go like in the comic it happened. Ok move on. All round great season, lots of action, great story arcs, amazing character development, and plenty left for more seasons and cross overs. The only thing I say could possible say was wrong is there are not extras. However like the first season it good enough to stand on it's own.

At the start it seems easy to predict how this second season will proceed - in New York's Hell's Kitchen, Irish mobsters to fill the void left by ousted Russians, Japanese and Chinese. Not so. Within moments, all is violently to change - the first of several startling new developments.Thirteen episodes of over fifty minutes. No bonuses. Charismatic blind Matt Murdock remains dedicated to ridding the city of its low life, at night he listening intently from roof tops for any indication all is not well.. He is still steadfastly against killing even the most ruthless villains - a fact some viewers may find annoying. Newcomer The Punisher has no such qualms, massacre of all scum now his main aim in life. Why this way? Interesting revelations help to gain him sympathy (he already with a fan club!). Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal have impact in the two roles - characters diametrically opposed, but at times powerful allies. Nelson-Murdock staff Foggy and Karen increasingly impress - Foggy especially so in trial scenes. Sadly the Law Firm front for Matt's secret activities is now a ploy wearing very thin - everything set off-balance by an Elektra storyline that some may find extremely tiresome.Even when episodes are watched in quick succession, events are not always easy to follow. So much happens in near darkness, even staunchest fans at times perhaps wondering "Where are we and why?" This is particularly so in final sequences, which may bewilder.Overall? Despite increasing reservations, I remain hooked - the hope that next time there will be an all round tightening up.

A four disc dvd box set containing all thirteen episodes of the second season of Daredevil.This is not a jumping on point, so go and watch season one first if you haven't.Regular viewers, read on.All episode run fifty to fifty three minutes. As with season one, there is strong language, graphic violence, and adult moments, so this is why it has an eighteen certificate and isn't suitable for anyone younger.A short while after the end of season one, and things are going pretty good for Nelson and Murdock attorneys. But whilst the city basks in a heatwave, someone is shooting up the criminal gangs. A new vigilante people are calling the Punisher. Daredevil might have started a trend, and again he has a few moral dilemmas to consider.But if the Punisher isn't hard enough, the return of a face from Matt's past adds even more complications, and he has a few very hard choices to make...A very strong season. And one that never feels over stretched or padded at thirteen episodes, because it does a superb juggling act with it's plotlines. Not starting one of them till a few episodes in helps, but then it balances them out superbly after.This isn't just good quality comic book vigilante action - and it is very good quality in that respect, because the fight scenes are once again superbly coreographed, and characters aren't invulnerable - it's also good strong grown up drama. Fully character driven, with things developing as a result of that rather than the needs of the plot. And with things for the viewer to think about as well along the way, about ethics and the heroic ideal and other such things.Some brief moments do have subtitles, which can't be turned off.There is some neat crossover with other Marvel Netflix shows, but you don't need to see them to get into this,.It is also a great launch for the Punisher in this version of the Marvel comics universe. Jon Berntahl is perfect casting, with just the right mix of decent family man and superb soldier with lots going on under the surface, to do the character justice.A great season, well worth five stars.There are no extras on the dvds at all.Language and subtitle options are:Languages: English, German, French.Subtitles: English, German, French.

Not as good as season one.Daredevil fights are better when he is in his 'normal' outfit.This leather heavy armoured suit makes him a lot slower...Eventhough I love it and especially the fight scenes and the interaction between the characters surrounding him.This character "The punisher", its fascinating and brilliant!! (great fight scenes) Bruce Lee would like this mix of martial arts. (the Punishers jail fight lookes like a tribute for the jail scene of Enter the Dragon.It's a thin line between right of wrong, good or bad.Like the vigilante films of Charles Bronson or series as Dexter.They only kill the bad guys. Stop them from making more casualties....is that justice?....(by the way; the Elekra character, the relationship between Matt and her,, looks like a copy from the Dexter season two series.)Also the Ninja scenes are a bit to much and B.S.

Superb series. I was slightly hesitant as had read a few 'not up to Series 1' but it was most definitely equal for me. Very brutal in places, particularly with Frank Castle, and at times the never-ending Hand and very dark scenes when you could barely see what was happening, but I'm not knocking a star off for that - the thread, the ongoing character development (some back, some forwards) - Karen Page certainly progresses big time. And Fisk back a bonus too. Really enjoyed. Bring on S.3.....
