Q: I don’t know the first thing about djing, but my little brother wants this. what else would he need to get started? a laptop? speakers?

I will add a little helpful input on top of the previous answer, the laptop should have a multithreaded, multi-core processor with a base clock speed of 3.0Ghz, and 16GB of ddr4 memory if he wants something that will give him enough creative freedom while learning to truly have a good chance of becoming a famous musician. As for recommendations on what laptop, I would recommend any laptop that has an AMD Ryzen cpu, or an 7th or 8th gen Intel core i7. For speakers, the best brand I have ever personally used, or owned, has to be Harmon kardon. Please take my recommendations with a grain of salt, they are being made in August of 2020, which means any future readers of this should look for a newer product and a better computer.

If the speakers are powered, yes.

Q: Does this work with Djay Pro 2?

I’m assuming you can probably map the controller into the program, but it also depends on the device you are using. There are videos that can show you but there is possibly a second application and some trial and error before you would get it to work.
