Very Hard to find this best of by the Rascals. All of the hits are on it.

THE VERY BEST OF THE RASCALS: Although it's four songs shorter, The Very Best of The Rascals is a VAST improvement, sonically speaking, over 1986's The Ultimate Rascals. Except for Love is a Beautiful Thing, all the blue eyed soul brothers' most important hits are here, from the effervescent showstoppers Good Lovin' and People Got to Be Free to marvelously mellow fare like Groovin' and A Beautiful Morning. Most are warbled in organist Felix Cavaliere's strong, churchy wail, with second lead vocalist Eddie Brigati shining on the stark, yearning ballad How Can I Be Sure and early blues rocker I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore. I've Been Lonely Too Long and You Better Run may be more famous, but semi psychedelic later stabs It's Wonderful and See are also worthy of the band's righteous legacy (after all, they were the first all white band Atlantic signed). Toss out that well worn copy of Ultimate Rascals and upgrade to this superior sounding sampler lovingly assembled by the good folks at Rhino Records.RATING: FIVE GOSPEL SHOUTS

C’mon! Are you kidding me?!? This is the best understated, underrated band of the 60’s. You’ll get this greatest hits, and think...”I had no idea they did that”. “They did that too?!?” “Another one?!?” You will not be disappointed to get this!!

まさかモノラルだとは知らずに購入。まぁこの時代だからモノラルだからとて何も問題は無いはずだが先に購入した「グルーヴィン」がステレオだったので、少しがっかりだった。当時はモノラル録音が主流だったのだからオリジナルはモノラルであって疑似ステレオは邪道という人もいるのだろうが、私にとってはBEATLESにしても疑似ステレオが初経験だったためかヘッドフォンの中で広がる音に愛着があるのは仕方が無い。楽曲は素晴らしい。それだけを評価するなら★★★★★でも良いかも。追記：１０曲目「A Beautiful Morning」以降はステレオです。
