Magic: the Gathering - Mercurial Chemister (180) - Return to Ravnica

On first look, it appears to be a great card. It, all by itself, is one card fling combo. You can use it to get cards from your deck and then use it to fling them at your opponent. Here's the problem though, it costs 5 mana to get out. So, it's only a mid to late game card. Next, you have to tap it to use it. This means, you can either fetch or fling...not both. This is a little slow.I'm sure there are great ways to use it, I just don't know what they are yet.

great card highly under rated i use it in my izzet control deck as a card draw engine that can also be used for removal if needed just got it today in time to play with some friends and the card advantage this guy gave me won me many games tonight

Love the card and i am planning on getting some chemisters trick card's to go along with my chemister : )

A 2/3 for 5 CmC is nothing to be too excited about, the the abilities more than make up for it. If you can get this guy out and past summoning sickness, the card advantage may just win you the game. Not to mention the option of removal for his second ability. I run a few of these guys in my Izzet deck, and he's helped me out more than once.
