Buttonsmith Van Gogh Tinker Reel Retractors - Wonderful product and top shelf customer service.In regards to a reel, my needs at work are 1) form and 2) function. In other words, looking very nice plus being durable for fast paced usage.Appearance: The graphics on the Van Gogh Tinker Tops are easily recognizable as Van Gogh. People who see these comment and identify Van Gogh. These Tinker Tops are just right for a professional setting. The colors are more subtle than their more vivid photos on my monitor. If you want something that's interesting, without being loud, these are for you. Quite nice. I decided to opt for a different set of graphics, since my style at work is somewhat flamboyant. On Amazon, I spotted other Tinker Tops that have the "Pop" of color I like.To opt for an exchange, the the normal process is: Click through the Amazon return page, print label, drop off at UPS, watch for refund, order the different version that you want and wait for delivery. I decided to ask Buttonsmith if there were a quicker, more convenient way to exchange. They answered immediately with a quick, easy solution ... and very soon I will have the set I prefer, at - no - cost. Very nice folks with genuine customer care.Function: This unit has a 1.25" diameter top. The snap holder (for key or badge) hangs beneath, bringing the total length to 3.5". For DIYs like me, the length can be reduced. The small widget from which the snap holder hangs has a generous hole in it. Easy to use for changing to a shorter clip or holder. Length of reel + widget is 1.5".The reel itself is made by Key-Bac, manufacturers with a reputation for the best made commercially sold retractors. This Key-Bac Mini has a standard strength line. It looks much more substantial than most standard reels.Since a reel for my purposes will get a rugged workout, I have decided to use 2 different reels. One for days when my outfit covers the reel, and one for the days when the reel is in clear view, worn over my clothes. Just an abundance of caution on my part. My handling is hurried and rugged at times. I think the Buttonsmith will give a zillion or so pulls, but I don't want to push my luck. I'll use a less attractive Key-Bac Sidekick with Kevlar cord on days it is out of sight and this adorable Buttonsmith on days where it will be seen by clients. (I'll take the time to be more ladylike when using on those days.)So, several things I like: good construction, great appearance, top notch customer service and fun flexibility. I put a lot of time and thought into my appearance at work. We sell a luxury item (with a price tag to match) and I am the first person the clients see. The Buttonsmith Tinker Top Reel does exactly what I want, and the price is reasonable. I'll post again later after using it a while. Recommended.

Got these for my wife for work. The art is nice, but the magnet is useless. If you so much as brush up to something, which is quite likely in the workplace, the covers will pop right off. The entire set went missing this way within a couple weeks of delivery. Complete waste of money, especially considering the price. If you must buy these, I recommend gluing the cover down, although that would somewhat defeat the purpose of having these capable of being swapped out in the first place.

I have to wear a badge to work everyday. Unfortunately, I'm not always wearing clothes that have belt loops. The other type of clip is the clamp/alligator and those don't work well either when you're wearing a dress and you pull on your badge to tap the security/door lock and it pops off your clothes. So glad I found one with an actual pin. Maybe I didn't read the description properly but the heading was a little misleading (to me); I thought I was only getting the Great Wave image (which I didn't mind since that's what I wanted) and that it was interchangeable with other images if you wanted to buy them separately. You actually get all 4 images/tops!!!

I had a few issues with this product:1. I should have read better, and noticed that it was 1 holder with 5 covers, not 5 whole holders, it was priced higher than the 5 packs, so assumed it was better quality, not less product with less quality2. Clip is very loosely attached and just flops around on the back3. Clip is NOT an alligator clip, it squeezes open, but not long with the multitooth, it's just a squeeze clip4. The 'cable' is thread - a very light thread5. The plastic badge holding flap is attached by a plastic bead, not metal6. Small magnet holds a button face to the reel, spins around, will probably get knocked offIf you just love the designs and are pretty easy on your belongings without a lot of movement, it could be fine.

This is a great product. It was a little bit more than I wanted to spend on an ID badge holder (I mean, they give them away at a lot of places) but this one works really great. I got the one that clips onto your clothes. It rotates around so you can fit it just like you want it to. I also get a lot of compliments on the beautiful paintings on my badge. I can change them out to match my outfits. I have had this for over a month and it seems like it will last for a really long time!!

It's not a very cheap product for what you want to buy ($15), so I'd expect much higher quality. The pictures are very nice, and well done. But there is only one holder (if it breaks, the whole thing needs to be replaced). Moreover, I lost 2 of the 4 covers in about 2 months of usage (I use it every day for the work badge) - the magnets aren't strong enough to keep them in together in some situations like full bus, etc. Won't buy again.

I could not use these. They are heavy, so when you pin them on anything that isn't stiff or heavy, they sag badly. I actually took the pins off the back and attached some magnet attachments hoping that would work better. It didn't. They are useless to me. I went back to a lanyard.

I really like the artwork on the badge. The string has held up well. But the plastic loop that the badge sits on has split & it was only 1.5 years of wear & I expected this to last much longer. Would have been nice to have it reinforced within the plastic. Now I have 4 lovely pieces of art I can't wear because I can't use the plastic loop badge holder.
