I have been crafting for well over 40 years. Most of what I know I've learned from books. I haven't done very much with wire or jewelry making and want to give it a try so I picked up this book.I found the book to be a great resource and the author very knowledgeable. Detailed pictures of the tools needed and the step by step instructions for the craft make this a fantastic teaching book. The author explains what tools are needed and where to purchase them. The steps to making the components for the jewelry are clearly outlined with photos that can be enlarged. After you learn the basics easy projects to get you started are also included. The book is packed full of good useful information and I highly recommend buying if you are interested in learning this craft.

Janet Evans offers excellent methods in her work, and she explains everything very well. She has a nice, easy writing style, and the projects in this book are nice, without being wildly over-the-top in design.I do have one issue, though. The photographs do not transfer well from platform to platform. I don’t know how they were taken or anything like that, but on my IPad or Kindle they are quite distorted and hard to see. I would like to be able to see them better, but the other aspects of the book are great.

This book is definitely for beginners. It breaks down all the tools you will need to make your jewelry as well as the sizes & gauges of wire to use. It is a very helpful book for someone who has never made jewelry before. My only disappointment is that it doesn't show how to make the bracelet on the cover. That is the real reason I purchased this book. Other than that, it's a pretty good book to have for references.

This wonderful and comprehensive book covers all the basics of beading and more. If you try to teach yourself beading from a book it can be very difficult, but the pictures of the pliers and wire show exactly how the wire should look as you are working and after you are finished. Brilliant! I wish I had had this book when I started!I also like how each project gives you a specified length for how much wire you will need to make a project. If you want to do a necklace for a friend, how long should it be without borrowing their neck to measure and ruin the surprise? Concrete measurements are a great touch and also helpful if you are making jewelry to sell.I've never done anything with memory wire, but after seeing the pictures and instructions, I'm going to give it a try this weekend!

I have a real problem with Ms. Evans' information: she tells us "The best type of sterling silver wire should contain 92.5% pure silver," HELLO!! Not "the best type" -- Sterling Silver IS .925 silver!! It either is, or is not, Sterling. Period.Even worse, she seems to think that Eye Protection is an Optional thing -- good grief! (If you've ever actually taken a jewelry course, your lab instructor will tell you that your safety is where it all begins.)

This is all it says and more, easy to understAnd with pictures and details to help. This writer really wants you to learn how to make jewelry. The projects are beautiful pieces you can change colors to make your own or give as gifts. I would buy any others by this author, I could always learn more.

Of all the books on bead jewelry I have read this is the first to explain the basics of making your own eye pins, jump rings from a piece of wire and other wiring techniques in a manner that I found easy to follow. There are some projects for those who like to follow instructions but this is more of a book for innovators who just want to know basics without attending a course.

This book has easy directions to help you make jewelry if you've always wanted to. It even tells you how to make head & eye pins that are essentials in making earrings. I've always wanted to make my own jump rings & this book tells .e how. There's just a few patterns but you can go by them to get ideas to create your own jewelry!

I value this ebook as it explains in a clear concise way about Jewelry making. Perfect for me a complete novice. It is far better than I expected and although short what it tells me was very useful. It encourages me to find out more:) I will look out for more from the author Thanks Janet.

Buch gibt an sich eine gute Übersicht über Methoden und einfache Projekte für Anfänger. Das Ebook ist jedoch derartig lieblos aufgemacht, dass es einen Stern (statt 3) gibt. Würde am liebsten keinen Stern vergeben. Die Abbildungen sind sehr klein und extrem schlecht, d.h. sie können auch nicht größer angesehen werden. Die Aufteilung der Seiten ist sehr schlecht, Überschriften stoßen an Text etc. Es hat sich offensichtlich niemand die Mühe gemacht zu schauen, wie das Buch denn als Ebook aussieht.

What a comprehansive and well described guide to the supplies required for jewellery making - with excellent, clear diagrams and pictures. Every detail appears to be covered. The next object is to learn the techniques, again fully documented and with photographs to assist. The book is rounded off with a set of jewellery projects for the reader to make, each methodically explained and with the supplies necessary listed. This is a most excellent book, well researched, well written and well worth reading.
