I own another larger slider and have used it extensively in my video work, but it is often a pain to carry around being as large as it is. That being said, I got this 24" slider to have a smaller, more compact option to bring on shoots. 24" is most often more than enough for what I do, and this slider is ultra smooth!It's got a roller type head (not a friction head) that makes for really consistently smooth shots. The rollers are adjustable so you can fine tune it, and the head features a spirit level and a friction brake. I love the fact that the feet on this one are rubber, so it stays put nicely if you use it on a table or counter top, and the legs are adjustable to level the thing out. It also has mounting holes on the bottom to use it on a tripod, or two tripods, which is what I do a lot of the time.The build quality is absolutely awesome, the head is nicely machined and anodized aluminum, as well as the slider itself and the ends. It looks amazing and feels great to use. Definitely worth the money. Love it!

Really the only reason to use a slider is for a nice, smooth movement. This POS has been nothing but a problem. It would seem that every one of the rollers has a flat part causing obvious jolting with any movement more than an inch. I should have tested it as soon as I got the product but unwisely chose to wait until I needed it. BIG mistake. I tried to adjust every one of the possible screws. It got a little better, but still obvious on screen. Get a different/better product. If you buy it - test it right away with plenty of time to return it for a refund. Then buy the one you should have to start with.

I have only attached it to my tripod at this point, but it seems like a wonderful product. I have attached it to only one tripod, but I think I will end up using two tripods to insure a level dolly effect. I attached my camera to it and it does seem to teeter a bit using only the one tripod. I think that it will be just fine for my purposes.

Even though I gave it 4 stars, I love this slider. I took one star off because I had to sand out some irregularities on the track and plastic fittings on the slider. Easy enough using steel wool. I am just very, very picky. Other than that, it is well constructed and should provide long service to me. I mainly bought it because it was a ball bearing, not friction model. Price was right also.

Excellent quality. Light assembly required. Easy to level with the bubble indicator. Slide glides remarkably smooth. A few MINOR and gentle adjustments to the "rollers" using the enclosed allen key and the slight wobble disappeared. I would by again without hesitation. I plan on getting a longer slider later on. Hopefully, the same brand. The 24 inch is long enough to get the shot but small enough to be portable.

$60 for a slider is not exactly a cheap price when you consider how simple these things are. However, I needed something that would be rigid and smooth. This thing is actually very smooth. Anyone who disagrees simply lacks any mechanical ability to install this thing correctly.Box doesn't come with any instructions becomes its so simple to install. When I first got the product, I was disappointed because there was some severe play in the carriage. After examining the product further, I saw small set screws on one side of the carriage that allow you to adjust the bearing tension on the rail. Boom. Works like a charm.24" is plenty for most peoples needs honestly. Sliders are almost always used in montage based films, meaning the shots are relatively short so a need for a long model is really not necessary. Also, this thing is very rigid and will hold my D3200 paired with the Tokina 11-16mm lens, which is quite heavy.It performs well. It takes a lot of practice to get smooth shots. If i were doing professional, high end video I would just shell out a lot of money for a stepper/servo motor slider. Human error is really the challenge with sliders...I lightly oiled the rail, which I recommend just to provide a better chance of not compromising smoothness. Overall, satisfied with the product!

Perhaps it works for you, but this thing wobbles like V.I.C. The rail itself is very good, straight and well made, and the legs are also sturdy and solid. But the trolley has plastic wheels that are just horrible compared to the rest of the item. This is the weak spot here. Any load will cause it to vibrate when sliding, and the resulting video is very jittery and unusable.

Solid build should have went with the longer version though. It is a good slider despite the length.
