I understand this is not a top of the line product we purchased but if i receive a damaged product i expect to be able to return it. Every corner of the product and box was chipped, scraped and/or dented to the point i took a picture of the box before i even opened it. When i tried to return the damaged product i received a message stating "This product is not eligible for return". Do not purchase this product if you intend on putting it somewhere it will be seen.

Dishonesty. This is a cheap pressed wood shelf. Not wood. Screws were good quality. Design was average at best. Pilot holes small and very hard to locate.Not a good price for pressboard- but I needed this so I kept it instead of returning it. I will not be buying shelving from amazon again.Recommendation- always use glue in unseen areas when -putting together cheap pressboard stuff like this.

I am using this as a shoe rack in my entryway because I don't have a front hall closet, and I think it looks very attractive for that purpose. I like to give 5 star reviews for products I really like, but I'm dinging a star because it didn't come with any screws in the box. The manufacturer was not able to send me any screws because apparently it is an imported item. I couldn't bring myself to try and figure out how to return a large item like this in the mail. So what I did is I went to the hardware store with the bookshelf and figured out what screws to buy myself, in consultation with a very kind employee - it took me 2 trips to the store, but the screws that ended up working were size 10, 1.25 inch screws. I originally bought size 8 screws, and they kind of worked, but the bookshelf was a little wobbly. So 1 screw at a time we replaced the size 8s with the size 10s, and now it's quite sturdy. I'm writing this review in the hopes that it might save someone else some trouble who doesn't receive screws. Maybe the manufacturer can take a note of my review and point someone in the right direction! Or, you know, put the screws in the box... but I know, I know, mistakes happen. I forgive you, Mr. bookshelf manufacturer, if you're out there somewhere. Ok so tl;dr, the shelf was a real thorn in my side to get together because of the missing screws, but now that it's in my entryway I have to say I do really like it.

Having my own experience with Iris furniture to set up a guest room before, I was happy to be able to gift my granddaughter this 2-tier storage unit for her very first apartment after her post-graduation, cross country touring adventure.She landed back at home 2 weeks ago, many weeks after I purchased the piece, excited to start out in her new little apartment. Like me, she loves the darker woods or black.How disappointed we were to unbox a PINK unit, the one colour that she detests. Unfortunately, because so much time has elapsed, there was no returning it. Just as unfortunate, no one in my family is find enough of PINK to want even a free storage shelf that small.My church, on the other hand, knew of a young mother with a tiny, toddler princess who was quite elated to receive a "table" for her little girl's castle!My mistake for not examining the packing box and noticing the wrong colour. My blessing to be able to bring a smile to a Little Princess and her Queen Mum! :)Last I heard, the Iris 2-tier was as sturdy as those I have used for years!

This is a simple 2 shelf bookcase that is the easiest to put together of any I have ever used (and I have used a lot over the years). The directions are sparse but unless you get lost going from your garage into your house, you shouldn't have any trouble with this unit. All the parts were there (note that the two shelf version does not come with a wall anchor, nor is one needed), and the screw holes lined up perfectly. Assembly took maybe 4 minutes using a cordless drill to drive the screws though a regular screwdriver would have been fine too. I didn't see a weight limit listed but it seems sturdy enough to hold up to any reasonable load (somewhere between a sheet of paper and an elephant training platform depending on how you view things- I'd say 20-30 pounds per shelf but I also aim the cap away from my face when opening soda so do with that what you will).

I needed a small bookshelf for my toddler's room. I didn't want anything too big or bulky for her small but growing book collection. This is exactly what I needed, perfect size, height and the quality is good for the price. Since it is in a toddler's room I added a couple of extra safety features, I anchored it to the wall and added corner gaurds and edging strip around the edges because they are sharp. It is perfect and she loves the fact that she can go get her books herself.

I was shocked when I got this, I've bought a lot of particle board shelving in the past and this is by FAR the BEST I have seen. The shelf comes in the usual pieces, but you actually use long screws to put it together. It also comes with 3 slats of particle board, NOT cardboard for the backing of the shelves. It also comes with nice screw hole covers that really hide the screws and give it a nice finished look. It goes together very easily and ends up pretty sturdy. I would recommend a drill for assembly, but I put it together with a screwdriver just fine.

I bought the black, 3-tier shelf. I'm happy with it, however the space between shelves is shorter than anticipated. I'm in college and planned to put standard notebooks and 3-ring binders on the shelf, but the space is too short. I ended up placing the shelf on a dresser on it's side in order to fit notebooks and 3-ring binders. If I had known it wouldn't fit a regular notebook, I would have bought something else.

It’s the cheapest wood possible, it’s incredibly flimsy. But my biggest complaint is that they didn’t create guides for the screws so it’s just a hole they drilled into the sides of this plywood so when you put the screws in you have to force them in and they strip with the slightest amount of pressure; not to mention some of the screws go in sideways because they didn’t measure anything. It’s a like a monkey went at the cheap wood with a drill with a blindfold on. They also gave me a broken piece. Worst money I’ve ever spent. Thanks.

Exactly the measurement I was looking for in “white”. It arrived 2 weeks later than expected delivery. Very low quality. It is pretty much particle boards (with wood chips coming off as it’s being assembled) cover by a layer of white wax paper (the kind of wax paper used for sticker books). It didn’t arrive “damaged” but the edges were chipped so I couldn’t use it for the display shelf I intended to get it for. Also due to the appearance of the sticker book texture, I only recommend it for additional storage in a closet so that it’s not seen.)

I'm currently using this as a bedside table where I also stash the books I'm reading (or will read soon), and so far it's holding up the weight pretty well. It wasn't difficult to put together, it's a convenient little bookshelf if you just need the place to store a few things, and in generally, I don't really have any complaints about it. If I need small bookshelves again, I would absolutely consider getting a couple more of these.

I ordered the white two tier shelf for my daughters small room. It was the only unit I could find this small. The first unit that arrived was black and very dirty, I sent it back for a replacement. The white model arrived a couple days later, also very dirty and with a scratch on one of the boards. I decided to put it together anyway since my daughter had been waiting for it. After going through the motions of assembly and seeing the quality I really should have packed it back up and returned it. The only reason I didn’t was to appease my little one. This is not even IKEA quality. It is far inferior. Maybe if this was $10 I wouldn’t be feeling so bad. At this price point I was expecting the white to at least be a laminate. You can see the pressboard right under the white which is also peeling off in one area. Just terrible. Take your time and find something better.

Very well manufactured bookcase with screws to ensure stability. Bookcase finish is durable and it's both easy and quick to assemble. Worth your time and money! Would definitely buy again.
