PTAEXAM: The Complete Study Guide

My professors in my Physical Therapist Assistant Program recommended this study guide for students to have extra preparation before taking the state’s licensing test. I liked how the book was divided in different categories similarly to the main subjects in the board exam (i.e. neuromuscular, cardiovascular). We also paid extra to have a score builders PT representative to talk to our class to give us more prep for the licensing test (which I found beneficial). As far as the study guide itself, I found it beneficial but hard to navigate even with the different categories. Many things and topics cross into multiple categories so I found myself having to place skinny sticky notes on so many pages with notes written on the sticky note just so I could better find what I needed for studying later. I do recommend buying this study guide because there aren’t many other study guides out there for the PTA program and having this as an extra tool definitely increases a student’s confidence prior to taking the stressful four hour state board exam.

My school gave me a study book but that one was super confusing. This was so my easier to read, focus, and study from. I like how it’s set up and charts made things so much easier. I do wish the practice quiz questions were not the ones from the exams they give you. Mostly studied from this book and passed. Would def recommend.

Great info but not as extensive as O'Sullivans. I used Scorebuilders and O'sullivans to study referencing back and forth. Highly recommend buying both when preparing for your exam. I passed on first try. Scorebuilders also has a helpful class and great exams.I like that it was colorful and engaging and loved their weekend study course.Again, Highly recommend buying scorebuilders AND O'sullivans to study as scorebuilders is not as extensive. I refer more back to O'sullivans.

This book was recommended to me as a PTA student 8 years ago. Now as a clinical instructor I always recommend it to my students. I swear it made the difference when it came to passing the boards.Over the years my original was lent out a lot and eventually didnt get returned. I've bought this to start refreshing and will read a little each night.
