Higher quality 440 stainless steel
Pros: This Hori Hori is forged with a higher quality 440 grade stainless steel as opposed to most Hori Hori's that use a lower grade 420 stainless steel or 3Cr13 stainless steel which is equivalent to grade 420 by chemical composition and physical properties. It's sturdy and comfortable in the hand and comes with an adequate leather sheath. Cons: The sharping stone is basically useless for this tool, it's really only good for sharpening small pocket knives and that okay with me, I have a nice sharpening stone just right for the job and I would have still bought this Hori Hori at $29.95 without the sharpening stone. The profile is not straight and the handle has a small gouge that was there before the handle was stained so, the quality of craftsmanship lacks attention to detail. Summary: Over-all you get what you pay for and for what you get it's still worth the price. What sold me and probably the most important aspect is there were no 1 or 2 star reviews with reports of broken blades as opposed to almost all other Hori Hori reviews of different brands that have several reports of broken blades. The minute flaws will not affect the performance so, I recommend this product to anyone and would buy it again.

Exactly what I needed!
This was delivered today and I have already used it to separate a half dozen irises when nothing else worked. I am a 66-year-old woman, not as strong as I used to be. I strongly recommend this knife for tough gardening chores!

Nice hefty garden knife!.. er.. tool.
There are several knives offered on Amz., here, that look fairly similar. I liked that this one said, straight out, the blade steel was 440 stainless. It is a decent steel and there is a LOT of it here for the price! The plain side was not very sharp initially, but with a fair amount of work on the whetstones it sharpened well. The curved angle was odd to sharpen. I’d just never encountered a blade shape like this. The scooped side I sharpened flatter. The handle was very blocky and large. A little sanding of the edges rounded it some and made it more comfortable in hand. Sheath is decent and sturdy. The A) tiny whetstone it comes with is B) very coarse. I’d not use it on the knife fir these reasons. It is a heavy, formidable, blade that will serve many purposes while gardening.

A very tough Hori Hori
I was getting a little tired of all the crabgrass around my property, so I decided to buy a tool that I had considered for a long time. I was a little wary of the gonicc brand over some of the pricier competitors with more recognizable brand names, but I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did!Using the saw-edge of the blade, I went up and down my driveway, using the blade to cut up the weeds before scooping them out. I winced a little at the sound of steel against stone, but the tool held up to this abuse really well. I carefully inspected it after all the work, and I can definitely say the edges held up well without a roll or dulling. I really like that it came with a belt-loop sheath as well, though it does seem to cut it up a little going back in.It's earned a place in my lawn routine, and I can definitely recommend it. The whole tool is solid-feeling, and constructed very well. A tough gardening tool with a lot of utility.

Exactly What I needed/wanted!
I have only used this once, but it works very well and is easy to handle. I spent three hours weeding in a public garden and it was very useful in helping get out the weeds with plenty of roots. I chose this one because it has a wooden handle, not plastic. I am trying to avoid plastics, as much as possible. I also like that the blade goes all the way through the handle which makes it extra sturdy! I would buy this again and I would consider buying it as a girt for my friends who garden!
