Poorly made...doesn't roll.
Very poorly made. I bought these for a very heavy welding table. As you can see in the picture the axle isn't centered which causes the wheel to just drag along the floor. I checked each wheel and none of them are centered and they are all off by different amounts. It looks like the hole was drilled with eye-ball engineering with a drill press. I'm very disappointed.

bottom of the barrel casters
The wheels were not drilled on center so they bounce up and down or in an oval motion. There is also a ton of slop or looseness in the swivel portion of the assembly (it rocks back and fourth severely) . These are most defiantly bottom of the barrel casters. For an item that you might rarely move they would probably be ok. But for a rolling work bench or in my case replacement casters for an engine hoist they are useless in my opinion.

Decent price but castings are rough, and holes aren't a true 1/4". We'll see how they hold up.
I have a 50 year old Delta Table Saw that needs new casters for it's roll around frame-- This system allows you to move the saw where you want, then push a couple levers to set it down so it won't roll. It works pretty well, but the casters are a proprietary stem type with a lock ring, that must be a specific length, and replacements are scarce and expensive.I bought these casters as I figured they'd hold up better than the original rubber ones that are now brittle and cracked. They were the right diameter, but the center hole is listed as 6mm, which is a little smaller than the hole size for the casters on the saw.The holes aren't 1/4 inch... they're .225", or about 30 thousandths undersize. This required me to drill out the holes...no big deal, but I also couldn't use the nuts and bolts, so I had to buy 1/4" bolts and lock nuts.2" long 1/4-20 bolts have enough smooth shank, but you have to cut off about 1/2" after the nut is screwed on.Also, the sides of the wheels where the hole is is "as cast" and very rough. This would add a lot of resistance to the wheels rolling easily. I touched them off on the side of a grinding wheel, and at least smoothed them up, but a person shouldn't have to do this. Also, the castings themselves aren't real good quality... hopefully they will hold up--if they do, I may upgrade my rating.

I gave 3 stars because they will do in a pinch and kept them because shipping them back for a refund would cost almost as much as the purchase price. These wheels are suppose to handle up to 1300# plus. I bought them because they are low profile; I needed less than 4½" overall height and I could not find rubber wheels that could take the weight at this height. I made a dolly for my 700# chipper which rides on a cement floor with them. They are set right next to the contact points of the chipper so as not to have any flex. However, they do not swivel very well with half the rated weight and I would not want to try them with more weight. One other thing I noticed, the bearing races are loose and can be wiggled by hand. This means the bearings are not even close to being tight in the race. This could be one of the contributing factors in the inability to swivel smoothly.

1 out of 4 is perfect
I ordered these to add a nice classic touch to a clients cabinet and only 1 out of 4 casters came in the shape I expected. The other 3 where very poorly sand cast and look much rougher. You can see the difference in the photos. If you just need heavy duty casters and the looks don't matter at all then these work fine. Other wise you can get similar casters at home depot for the same price and be able to pick out better looking ones.

Great swivel wheels
Those are beasts! I haven't bolted them to my welding table yet but I imagine they'll work great.Edit: I based that on a quick look at one of the wheels. But today I saw a review from someone else about his wheels being drilled off center. I went and looked at mine and mine are off also. All the wheels wobble either side to side or up and down. I'm returning them. I may reorder another set since there are so many positive reviews but I'll look at other options first before I do. I'm changing my stars to 3 instead of 5.

I love these wheels however mine are 2 different sizes
I love these wheels however mine are 2 different sizes. I can make it work with the island I'm building but I would have preferred them to be the same.

GREAT HEAVY DUTY STEEL CASTER
I've now inspected 4 of the 12 casters I ordered. They are all well made and the wheels are running true on mine. The double set swivel bearings are greased and reasonably tight. The wheels have a loose bushing inside that rides on the axle bolt and the lock lever locks the wheels tight. But neither the bushing nor the axle bolt were lubricated. I greased both and the wheels now roll smooth as glass and are quiet. Some of the reviews indicated problems with these casters but my first 4 show no sign of the problems. If I find any problems with the remaining 8 I will amend this review.

NO BRAKES!!
None of the casters have brakes, even though it clearly says, and shows, brakes. At this point I question whether or not the weight statement is true.
