Not what I expected...
I was so excited at the beginning to receive these books, so I can start teaching with them to my students. I find the lessons appropriate for one hour of class with topics interesting to develop in class. At the moment of using the CD Rom, it says: listening for tape recorder and CD Rom for the computer... Well... I teach online and I think that the idea of having a CD for tape recorder use is outdated! We are in 2018 and who uses that? Now, I don't know how to play the audios on my computer! Then, using the CD ROM it has been almost impossible to do the game and email section; It never loads and my speed connection is really high. Really, I think that Oxford has to find a way to move on in the new trends and stop selling CDs only for tape recorder use. I am not a system engineer and now I have to look for someone who can help me with this matter.

This book turned out to be more confusing than helpful. I was glad to see it has the listening manuscripts in the back (even though it also came with the CDRom). However, it's just too confusing for students to follow along. Maybe if they're really truly advanced speakers, it would make it a little easier. Even as a native speaker, I wasn't exactly sure how to answer some of the questions. Perhaps having the teacher copy would be necessary.

The CD doesn't include the audios for the lessons so it makes the book half worthless as parts of the speaking, grammar and reading have to do with the listening. I even bought an old school CD player thinking it would work, but no, it didn't. Not what I expected as an ESL teacher.

A little limited.
The only decent one-on-one business book I could find. A little limited in terms of lesson themes and variety. I liked the listening banks, but you do have to buy the CD as well to make it worthwhile. Otherwise, over half of the book is useless. Like all textbooks, it is a bit repetitive, so you might want to mix similar themed lessons from other business books to make your lessons more interesting and varied. You can adapt most business textbook activities to suit one-on-one anyway.

Decent book
This is organised for dipping in and out of and has the good idea of dual use as a desk reference as well as teaching/learning material. Some of the listening is a bit easy but not amazingly so; some of the reading in the reading bank is not what I would have picked, but you could always print stuff to supplement it.Pro: it's functional based for the most part. There is plenty to seize on.Cons: Could do with a few more discourse features but this book is better than most for the level by a long shot.
