Nice
It is pretty cool. Though a little too heavy. The app for it is easy to use. The app could use a GoPro setting.

Kind of a dud. Only for phones and the app stinks
As one of the other reviewers mentioned, you can certainly attach a GoPro or similiar device to this and then set it with your phone, but you're going to end up making the video on your phone. I didn't realize that was the case, nor that a company that developed something as clever as the Gorillapod would develop an app as lousy as the one you need for this. I wouldn't buy this again. It's so much trouble to work I've barely used it in the four months since I bought it.

Works only with smartphones and Joby app. Doesn't work with small tripods.
I just got the Swing and I'm somewhat disappointed. First off all, once it is fully extended (with an iPhone Pro Max mounted), all of my table top tripods collapse under the weight. Even the Joby's own 5K GorillaPod that is rated to work with DSLRs. For that reason, you will need to use a heavier/larger tripod. But who wants to carry an extra tripod to shoot with a smartphone? Here is my second point. As of right now, all the settings and even the image capture is done through the Joby's app. That's right, you cannot use any other app to capture the timelapse/video but the Joby app. This also means that to use it for any other camera other than the phone, like GoPro or similar action camera, you will still need to have your phone connected and capture the video through it. If you quit the app, the Swing stops the motion. What I also would like to see is a the use of a smartwatch, Apple Watch, to use or a bluetooth remote to set the set points. At the moment, if you want to set the start and end point, you need to keep holding the +/- signs until the desired position is met. If you are doing a full motion, it may take a while. While holding a finger, you keep pushing on the phone which adds pressure on the tripod head. Speaking of tripod heads. The one included in the kit, is not strong enough to hold an iPhone Pro Max in place, especially when used at extreme angles and when setting the set points it moves.Overall, I would like to see software improvements so that the Swing could be used with other apps as well as the action cameras and using the Joby app just to set up the motion.

Vibrates as it swings!
It's an interesting productworks exactly as stated however there is a constant vibration as it tracks from one side to the other tried with a phone gopro and sony rx 100all of my shot footage was essentially unusable without additional stabilisation. sort of defeats the object!Would not recommend for any critical shooting
