Cerwin vega VPAS10 10" 2Ω 550W Max / 200W RMS Powered Active Subwoofer Enclosure + Bass Knob

I've always been a fan of Cerwin Vega speakers and I was in the market for a subwoofer but I don't have the space. I mounted this to the rear firewall of my truck and it sounds great! My current system is lacking the low side and this helped tremendously. I can't say that it will rattle the neighbors house or the car in the next lane but it does sound good. It was fairly easy to install but the plug for the power/ground/remote was a bit finicky, they are too close to each other and I was afraid it would short out it they should come in contact. The set screw used to anchor the wires are a little bit on the small size, even for 8awg wiring kit. I had to solder the end of the copper wired to make sure that I have a good connection that won't fall out of the harness. I would buy this again, highly recommended.

I’ll preface this review with that fact that I’m not a fan of powered subs. I prefer a separate amp and box setup. Put one of these in the back of my 98 Cherokee. Didn’t want a full-size box back there because I use the Cherokee as my beach truck. Stuff gets tossed in the back kind of haphazardly. But I needed some bass. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of build and the quality of sound this little guy puts out. If you’re expecting it to sound like a 10” in a box, this is not the sub for you. It doesn’t have that true thump a real boxed sub has. But... it definitely adds that low end punch to make your system bump. Seems well made. I like that it actually had terminal lugs for all your power/ground/remote inputs. A lot of powered subs just give you a wiring harness (that’s how the Rockville powered subs are). Fairly easy to setup and tune. My only real gripe was that the sub starts to bark around 3/4 volume. It’s not awful, was able to dial it back with the gains... but like I said, if you’re looking for slam... like good, hard hitting bass, you’ll be disappointed. If you’re looking for some better mid/low range, this absolutely fills the void. My beater Cherokee now sounds better than my gf’s brand new Grand Cherokee. I took 1 star off because it was packaged terribly. I’ve gotten boxes of paper that were packaged better than this piece of electronics. But that’s on amazon, not Cerwin-Vega

If you’re not looking for glass rattling bass but want something clear to finish off the complete sound this unit won’t disappoint. Well worth the money. Def recommend..Added notes:I purchased this on Jan 14 and it made it to July 11 before blowing. Did it give me that extra bass I was looking for? Yes. It sounded great up til now. I didn’t think I’d need to buy the extended warranty with my experience I had in the past w Cerwin Vega. But it is what it is. I’m not saying don’t buy one but think about the warranty just in case. Yes I know it was under $200 but still wouldn’t think of it blowing this quickly. And no I didn’t have it full blast that often in case you were wondering..lolUpdate: I contacted the seller and is exchanging it for me. Super easy to deal with very quick responses. Very appreciative of the easy process.

If you’re a 17 year old trying to anger your neighbors….this sub is not for you.For the rest of us, this sub is exactly what I was looking for. I had 2 10” MTX subs as a kid and I’m not looking for that at 39 years old. I needed something that bumps while improving music quality.It fits under the driver seat of my Tacoma no problem, no risers or adjustments needed. Install took about 3 hours but that was me taking my time. The sound quality is excellent and fills in most of the low ends. The super super low stuff isn’t there but that’s honestly ok.I don’t turn it all the way up and it’s more than enough bass for me. Rap, Edm, metal- it all sounds good. Well worth the extra money compared to the cheaper under seat subs. Would buy again fa sho.

I would say this is prefect if your looking for a “adult” sound upgrade. If you want to shake your truck and let everyone feel your bass obviously move on to 2 12s. But if you’re looking to upgrade your basic stereo system to what I would call a factory high end system this is for you. Good clean bass with most songs. It will take some adjustments to get the right bass and sound but it will be a improvement if your patient enough. Prefect for trucks and suvs but I feel like it would be pointless unless it was in a cab, a trunk would probably block most the bass. If this thing lasts it will be 100% worth the money. Will update if anything changes!

I had hoped that Cerwin Vega would have placed a quality product in the low-profile powered sub market. I remember them having excellent sounding home speakers in the 70's and 80's. But unfortunately, they should have stayed out of this particular game. Not much good I can say about this sub. Constantly going into thermal protect mode, even when the input signal is leveled to 0.9v via my LCi2 pro input converter. I don't even know where to really begin, but this is not a product that I would endorse from either a sound or performance perspective. Maybe others will disagree, but I feel as if I purchased a $200 doorstop. Will be taking out of my truck and finding something better. Should not be hard to do, because Cerwin Vega seems to have set the bar fairly low.

Bought this for my Armada after the factory Bose subscription failed. I snipped the harness plug off the bose sub, and simply used that on the new sub. Made install a breeze. This sub is much louder and more capable than the OEM Bose unit. That said its important to set your expectations here. In my past I've had some monster subwoofer/car stereo setups. This is not that.This speaker will round out the bass and give your music fullness. If thats what you're looking for this is spot on. If you're looking to shake your neighbors windows, this speaker won't do it. In short, its a subwoofer for adults who like music, but dont want to compromise the space for a real sub box.Bass head teens and early 20's will want to look elsewhere.
