Good boot for the price, not great, but really close. Wish I could put down 4.5 stars!
I've of worn these boots for a couple days of work, and I want to give initial impressions. I will update in a few months after breaking them in fully.First off, this is the first Danner boot I've had. You mostly hear online about Danners running narrow, but I believe this applies only to the hiking boots. I tried on a few pairs of Danner work boots in local shops, and they all seemed to run a bit wide and long for their stated size. These fall squarely into that category, I would say. I am typically a 10.5, wide-ish foot. I bought the 10D and it fits great, if not a tiny bit large. For reference, my foot measures 10.5" at the longest and 4" at the widest. (Shout out to the other reviewer who put his foot measurements down - this helped me, thanks! :) I will gain more width in this boot as it breaks in so I am glad I did not go with a EE.Things I like so far:1. The sole has tons of cushioning. I'm in a warehouse on my feet all day so I needed something with some squish and these deliver.2. The fit is a good shape for my foot. No hotspots or anything after several full days. I didn't treat the leather immediately like some on here have, although I will in the near future.3. Leather is thick and the construction is tough.4. Love the style especially the white sole. I bought them for work but I will wear them out on the town too.5. Good enough traction for me on ice/snow/wet ground. Not the best ever but it's decent. I don't work around oily surfaces so I can't comment on that.I wish I could give it 4.5 stars... here is why it doesn't get 5 stars:1. The tongue isn't great. It isn't wide enough up at the top of the boot. If you tie it all the way to the top, you actually have to really tighten down those laces to get either side of the tongue tucked in. Uncomfortably tight, and I can't wear it like that. I could use at least another half inch on either side of it. That's poor design on a boot this pricey, and I believe is what causes the issue others have reported of the tongue slipping to one side. If it shifts just a tiny bit it isn't tucked in any more. Hopefully as the boot stretches this will be less of an issue.2. Again with the tongue - the "gusset" or whatever you might call it (where the tongue is attached to the body of the boot) is a little too high up. It is kind of a squeeze to get my foot past it. I do have a high volume foot so this is partially the issue, and hopefully, like the other tongue problem, this issue will lessen as the boot stretches and breaks in. Once my foot is in the boot they are quite happy.Later this week I plan on treating the leather. Although they are already mighty comfy so I'm not too worried about speeding up break-in. I haven't decided if I want to use something waxy like Obenhauf LP or more of just a straight conditioner oil-type product.***Side note... It is shocking how many people put up with months of a boot shredding their feet with the idea that months down the line it will break in and be okay. Try it on in a store, if it doesn't feel great walking around for 15 minutes or so then DON'T BUY IT. Wear it in your house for a few hours. Feet hurting? - SEND IT BACK! There are many good brands of boots out there, and they all fit different shapes of feet. These boots do not have a long break-in unless your foot is wrong for them. /rantAnyway, I'll update this review after a good break in period, but right now I like them a lot. I plan on getting Danners to replace my hiking boots when I need a new pair.

Fit is good, juuust on the large side but thats perfect for a quality work sock. The reason for four stars is due to the extremely short life span of the Christy sole. If you work 40 hours a week on your feet, expect the sole to be completely bald in 10-12 months. Local shoe repair cost about $80 for replacement, for me it is a boot worth it, I'm on my third pair!

they are good boots and well made but for some reason they ...
I have been wearing Danner for about 20 years now....I had a hard time deciding between these and the thorogood boots..they are good boots and well made but for some reason they are not as comfortable as my danner workman boot...no where near as comfortable...I had to throw out the shoe inserts and buy new ones to make them more comfortable which adds another $20 to the price tag! I would say if you want something that is going to be worn day in and day out go for the workman not these...Also the laces only lasted me about 3 months so expect to have to replace them with something a little better quality....Danner can do better....I just don't know why they skimped on these two places.....

solid tough American made rugged boots
It took me about a week of daily wear to get them broken in but. Once they are broken in, you will never need another pair of boots. I'm in heavy civil construction and these boots get used and abused daily. Soles don't last as long as I would have liked but I'm planning on getting some harder material when I send them to get resoled. If you want American made tough boots, these are it.

Everyday boot up for every task
I wanted a boot that I could use as a go-to outdoor work boot, but also in winter for dog walks and short tromps through snow and slush.Durability, affordability, comfort, American-made and fashion were my priorities (in that order). The Cristy is a work boot first and foremost. If you buy these for fashion, be aware they are very stiff and somewhat clunky, even after the break-in period. (I've had mine about 3 mo.)Danner describes these as a hot weather work boot, but with a decent pair or two of wool socks, you can winterize them quite easily. (I live in Michigan.) They have NO insulation and are not waterproof. However, snow and slush have not bothered me yet through the tough, thick, leather. Tongue gussets run about 3/4 up the laces. A nice feature. The leather is tough! Scuffs on concrete or shingles as any leather would, but wipes clean easily and holds it form very well, for a non-steel toe. The off white sole does an amazing job of shedding mud. I was a bit worried by the tread before buying, but it grips well enough and doesn't carry any debris (gravel, glass, metal, etc). It does dirty quickly if you're worried about that sort of thing. I think it gives the boots some character. As for walking, the boot is alright. It's not cushioned like a hiking boot, yet doesn't give blisters or sore feet. I've walked briskly for 2 miles in these before and they were up for the task.As far as fashion goes, these boots look good. I've gotten compliments on them. You can wear these around with a pair of jeans for a rugged look. As I said before, they feel a bit clunky because of their build quality, but they are not an oversized, awkward-looking boot. (A much smaller toe than RedWing or other work boots)SIZING: I was able to try these on, and must say that the length of the boot is very important. THE LENGTH OF A BOOT DOES NOT CHANGE! Breaking in a boot has to do with the sole, they will not get longer. Make sure your toes have room. I wear a true 9.5 and ordered a 9.5. The 9 was too short, a wider width did not matter. The 9 was smaller and looked better, but would've been a mistake. I can fit thick wool socks into the 9.5 without a problem. After sufficient breaking in, the boot is comfortable to walk, work, or just stand in. The off white sole does add a touch of fashion (even though I realize that's not it's intended purpose.) If you want a reasonably-priced, DO-EVERYTHING, hand-made, Amercican boot, the Cristy is your boot.
