Really useful bowls
I bought these as pasta bowls, my main criteria being that they were sturdy (since I am a am prone to break things) and not expensive. I can't say I had high hopes. However, the bowls are great, and we now use them for most meals in preference to the large white dinner plates we have that cost a lot more. They are especially great for chunky stews and curries and other sloppy foodstuffs. I can imagine that if you have children, they would be perfect for avoiding spills. We like that you can get a lot on them, but they aren't too huge. They seem sturdy enough and apparently, you can even put them in the oven, not that I've tried. They look nice too. I even bought a second set of four!

Useful and attractive in appearance but quite heavy.
The bowls look good, are very useful for everyday meals as well as special occasions. They obviously have a much bigger capacity than your ordinary plate or bowl but they also look good if there is only a small amount of food in each bowl. They can be used as serving bowls as well. The only downside is that they are quite heavy so probably not good for people with arthritis or if you have to carry big stacks of them.
