Beautiful, thought-provoking, author has a way with words...
Scrapyard For Dreams is an anthology of poems, epigrams and flash fiction written by Dhruv Kumar. The author taps into a plethora of topics with his varying styles of writing. The writing primarily is quite simple and pleasingly rhythmic at times. The book conveys the author's feelings and talks about human nature, grief, loneliness, memories, love and loss. It's quite an engaging & quick read especially for poetry lovers. The haikus and flash fiction pieces are my favourite of the lot.The author has a way with words. His writing is raw, thought provoking and mesmerizing in ways. Some pieces spoke to me while I found some a tad bit confusing... some resonate with me so well while some don't. But poetry and prose is all about interpretation, after all. I'm generally not a fan of this genre but this one is a pretty good compilation. The author has filled the pages with meticulous words springing from his thoughts and feelings. It's refreshing and relatable. Definitely worth a read... especially if you love poetry, prose and flash/micro fiction. Also, if you love reading and are on a time crunch it's a perfect read for you.I’d give it a solid 4/5 stars.

A new genre to explore!
The book has 3 parts:Poems:The poetry part is indeed soothing to read and reflect. I have read many other poetry books this was something different to me.At some point I was a bit confuzed about the poems and how they are narrated because it was not looking like a poems to me poetry is like a ryming one right!Next we come to musing:The musing part was reflective to me i was indeed keen to read this one as I havnt read any musing from a long time. There are beautiful topics to reflect on.Life, grief, happiness, childhood, adulthood, nature, moral values all of the basic stuffs.Next was Short Fiction:This part was a best for me.Because I love to read short stories they were all soothing to read loved all of them!Talking about the cover and the title of the book:The cover is indeed attractive so the title too!Narration:If I say overall I will give a 3 out of 5 in narration because somewhere I found a bit unncessary things like in poetry some poems were baseless to me i actually didn't understand what was it.And if we talk in separate form: then the narration was in a lucid manner in flast fiction and then comes in the musings.Authors work:Author has done a good job exploring a different genre as according to me writing musings and poems is a bit difficult as compared to writing a novel.

Confusing
A Scrapyard for Dreams is divided in 3 sections poems, musings & flash fiction. Let's start with poems. I've been reading decent number of poetries lately so I like to think I understand thing or two. Honestly I did not enjoy the poems with two or three exceptions. My main issue was style and message of author. It was confusing and most of the times I filed to understand what author wanted to convey. I think editor could've done a better job. •Musing section was my least favorite among these 3. It was scattered and preposterous at times. There was one chapter which literally discussed How to drown a fish in water? I don't know what was author trying to do here. Flash fiction section was just comparatively better than the other two. Flash fiction is basically extremely short story. All stories had philosophical touch which seemed overdone at times. Overuse of philosophy doesn't always work as you want it to. There are also 2 bonus short stories. They were nice addition and only part I truly enjoyed.

Brings your soul back from "auto-drive"!!
The signature of beutiful writing is that it never imposes its ideals on the reader, which is the key in Dhruv's works. The poems are soulful, the musings are thought provoking in addition to some amazing fictional scenarios. I will definitely recommend this book if you prefer light reading on a Sunday morning with caffeine running through your veins. Its peaceful and tames the Chaos within.

Serene read!
"Then the sweet petrichor soothes your soul, and dampness nourishes it even more. That’s when you start missing it. That’s when the longing begins, an unbearable longing for the rain to pour again." - Dhruv Kumar.'A Scrapyard Of Dreams' is a collection of beautiful and touching prose, musings and flash fictions divided in three sections. The poems and musings in this book takes us through the ordinary life, some bitter truths and the joys in life. It talks about vivid people surrounding us, their life and sufferings. The flash fiction is something which, I really admire. The flash fictions – this collection is nothing but short fictions with sprinkled philosophy in it.This collection is something I would call as a serene read. Yes, it does deals with a few emotional topics, yet there is a source of hope which you could definitely find while reading. Overall, it was an enchanting read for me.

A masterpiece
With themes like loss, grief, death, memories, Dhruv beautifully pens it all. Each musing, each poem, or flash fiction, hits the right chord. They are going to leave you with a feeling of heaviness. What I loved most about the book is the words that the author chose. How amazingly he conveyed important messages with just a few words. Some of my favourite poems from the book are The divine plan, words Vicious, Light, Shadows and darkness, The lost river, the thing that was stolen and the whispers of winds.Pick up this book, read any page and you will witness a masterwork. Love reading microfictions or poems? Want to read something different? This is the book. Recommend for beginners who want to develop an interest in reading poetry.
