Tasty, great price, but not as much buckwheat as I hoped
i've been using Bobs red mill buckwheat mix but the price on this Arrowhead was fantastic so I ordered a box which contained a number of 26oz packets. (6?) the box barely made it here, obviously the box was not designed for trucking, not shipping, but no packets were damaged. Arrowhead list three kinds of flour in the mix: buckwheat, whole wheat and rice, in that order. which means it is safe to assume there's maybe 1/3 buckwheat content. the lower fiber content (3g) seems to agree with my 1/3 buckwheat flour guess, I'm sure rice flour drags the fiber content down quite a bit. bobs lists 2 flours, buckwheat and whole wheat, probably 50/50: the mix and the resulting pancakes are much darker and the fiber content is high at 7g.GENERAL PANCAKE ADVICE:for more fiber, add flax seed meal or bran meal. and DON'T FORGET THE BLUEBERRIES... these quality pancake mixes are NOT infested with sugar so those folks who are used to the fluffy, Millbrook-white-bread flavor of Buttermilk Krusteaz, you may find the flavor slightly 'cardboardy' if you are adding fiber. so just throw in some frozen blueberries, no need to defrost. super easy and super tasty. and healthy. for those Aunt Jemima users out there, please try real Maple Syrup. it comes from tree, not a high-tech corn syrup factory. (the price of real Maple Syrup has come down quite a bit...thank you Canada and Vermont...although as a native New Yorker I mail order NY syrup to support my peeps.) I also recommend a quality ceramic coated pan and butter to keep pancakes from sticking.alsoSOMEONE FAILED MATH - the Nutrition facts on the Arrowhead packet lists 150 calories per 1/3 cup serving. (I personally consider a serving to be 1 cup....mixing up 1/3 cup makes maybe two big pancakes - barely worth the cook/cleanup time.) the next column in Nutrition lists 280 calories PER CONTAINER! there's like 17 servings per container, so do the math and Calories Per Container gets pegged at about 2550. so I don't know how they screwed that up. did they mean just over 2/3 cup and not Per Container? that would be an odd quantity to measure out for 280 calories. color me confused.still, I would recommend this buckwheat mix if the price is right. for me, it's time for BREAKFAST. enjoy!

New formula is terrible!!!!
Used to be the best, even better than non GF mixes. But they ruined it with the new formula. It’s bland and cooks up hard instead of soft like the old formula. Now it’s like tasteless hockey pucks. Off to find a better tasting mix.

Heads up!
I use this for baking and really like the product; however, when I ordered 6 of them I did not think when they arrived they would all expire in the next month :(

My only pancake mix for over 20 yrs!But please keep it affordable I don't like paying $50 when last time it was $40.My kids insist and my wife demands I get it or I would've got oat or something cheap!

Can be thin
The directions were almost impossible to read. Had to use magnifying glass. Learned to use less liquid water or more mix. They come out pretty thin. But otherwise we love them. We add blueberries and or choc chips.

Good buckwheat flavor
Excellent flavor for us buckwheat lovers. Difficult to find in my area since mill shut down. This is a good brand to have. Mixes and cooks fast and easy. I double batch and reheat in microwave.

Very bland, toppings such as fresh fruit and agave syrup are a must.
Of all the gluten free organic pancake mixes I have tried, this one is the only one that has practically no flavor. The pancakes cook up beautiful and fluffy, but taste is seriously lacking. Once you add agave syrup and fresh strawberries, they are much more acceptable.

Holes in bag
Every bag had a hole in it. The holes weren’t big enough to loose all contents, small enough to leak a little out and make you wonder if the ingredients are safe.My kiddos Love these pancakes. What to do?

It's ok
But I really prefer Bob's Mill products. They are organic and you can get gluten free but taste like real American pancakes. This one is ok but not fluffy and taste different from what we used to, though if you are not comparing than a good product.
