KPL leather Briefcase laptop messenger bag satchel for men and women (Fits 14" / 15.6") college office bags

This is my first product review on Amazon and probably my last. I don't get excited about many things, but Komals 16" messenger bag is my current favorite. I have owned the bag for just over a month at this point. I started a new job that would require me to haul a computer, books and files to and from my office, so I decided to get a decent briefcase. I searched high and low. I was expecting to drop a decent amount (upwards of $400) to find a bag that could do everything I needed. For almost 15% of the cost I was prepared to pay, I can't complain, and won't.The bag came as quickly as Prime has conditioned me to expect. It was wrapped carefully in plastic, which then had the bag inside of an okay drawstring dust bag. It's nothing to write home about (or in a review) but it was a nice touch. Each of the zippers, buckles and the like were wrapped as to not damage the leather. Komal wrote a nice letter that detailed the care instructions on the back. Be forewarned, it smells. Bad. But it does fade after the first week or two, now it just smells like leather. I emptied mine nightly and let it air out for the first two weeks.The bag is made exquisitely. There isn't a single stitch that I have second guessed the craftsmanship of. Each zipper and seam work smoothly, with not catches. The bag holds more than I ever expected it would. I currently carry a 15" Elitebook, iPad, 4 books, 2 schedulers, 6 files with about 200 pages between them, laptop charger, phone charger, water bottle, a stupid amount of writing options and two notebooks and have more than enough room to spare!The single best thing about this bag are the compliments I get about it. My boss loved the bag so much, she went and bought one. Strangers yell across the parking lot to tell me how much they like it. It's an instant confidence booster.When it comes down to it, Komal has produced an excellent product at a fraction of the cost. Is it Italian leather? No. But the leather it is made with holds up very well. My dog knocked over my water bottle onto my bag and my stomach dropped. I wiped it off and stuck it in the sun like Komals care instructions said, and it's back to being brand new, just with a little more character now. If you're contemplating/researching a bag, I spent hours, close to 20, looking for the best bag for the price. Save yourself the time, buy this bag.

It will be hard to beat this bag at this price point. Frankly I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad that they do. This was purchased to hold my Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 15.6 inch touch screen laptop and it fits snugly with the added padding.Here are my observations on the bag that I received:1 - Upon inspection, the bag appears to be well made. The leather is thin, but properly and evenly stiched at all seams. No stray threads or bad stitches.2 - The lining is a nice green color and compliments the bag. It is properly fitted to the leather and seems durable.3 - The finish on the leather is a very nice color and gives it a vintage look.4 - There is some sort of thin padding in the front and back panels to give your laptop a little bit of protection. There is NO padding in the botton or sides.5 - There is plenty of storage in this bag for everything that I need to carry and then some.6 - Smells like quality leather. Reminds me of walking into a boot store.7 - I actually prefer the strap buckles over magnets since they are more secure.Here are some minor points:1 - For me the weak part of my bag seems to be the shoulder strap. One side of my strap is made from 2 pieces of leather that was overlapped and stitched together so I'm not sure how that will hold up over time. Don't get me wrong, it was very well done, but a potential weak spot.2 - The bottom of the bag has nothing to protect it from wear such as leather skid pads or brass feet. This is an easy DIY fix for the owner though. I'll probably make this mod soon.3 - It would be nice if the shoulder strap was removable. I have already ordered a couple of brass D rings, clips and Chicago screws to remedy this (about $10.00). The added bonus is that once this mod is done I can re-use the hardware if the original strap fails and I need to replace it.4 - I cut three pieces of 3/4 inch foam, 1 piece for the bottom and 2 pieces for the sides. Now my laptop is better protected.5 - Finally I gave the leather a thorough rubdown with my favorite leather conditioner/preservative to give it some added protection.I wouldn't hesitate to buy this bag again and I'm looking forward to several years of service from it.

Quality and well made. The smell is pungent at first but dissipates in a couple weeks. I am wishing it was a little smaller than what I need it for but great value for the price.

Beautiful bag. The leather is high quality and has a very strong leather smell. Plenty of compartments. Feels sturdy so far, though time will tell. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Insane quality, great and kind seller.

I was very disappointed with this product. It arrived folded in two and the fold could not be removed at all. Out of the box it was sticky and the smell was awful. I aerated it for about one week so it dries prior of being able to wear it. Smell never went away completely, but it was not that noticeable when outside.I decided to give it a chance anyway and was using it for about one year when I decided to throw it away after it started tainting my cloths. I tried treating the surface with leather sealants but it didn't help at all.Also, all hardware is cheap and it stains the leather - wherever there is a buckle, leather will go black and it cannot be cleaned.In general, I do not recommend this purchase at all.
